I see kittens
Jumping

I see kittens
Running
Around
See kittens

I See Poppies

1
by Poppy-may aged 7

I see poppies
Red poppies
I see poppies golden
Pink and orange
I see sprouting poppies
I see poppy petals
I see poppy seeds
I see a poppy patch
I see a dancing poppy
I see poppies blushing in the sunshine
I see poppies

McDonald

1
by Harshita Das aged 10

Who doesn’t like burgers?
Who doesn’t like fries?
Who doesn’t like McDonald?
Anyone? From you guys

Well at the foot of a hill
Lives an old man
Who devotes his time
Raising chickens and hens

McDonald may be fun
But the one who started it
Has realized his mistake
And is working hard to keep us fit

Why it’s none other than Old McDonald
Who has a farm
He has a chicken and a horse
He has a pigs and a bee swarm

The new McDonald though
Loves his job
And Old McDonald
Has begun to sob

So why not when we wake
Have milk and eggs on our plate
And stop him from crying
And maybe change his fate

The Lonely Gorilla

0
by Harshita Das aged 10

Once in the beautiful woods
Lived a gorilla all alone
No friends, no family
He was all on its own
He gathered sweet wild fruits for a living
And was sometimes quite sad
He didn’t deserve this
He really wasn’t bad
In fact he was very nice
And he was very good
he would help anyone
If he could
But he had no friends
They were dead a while ago
Someone with a gun
Shot their hands and a toe
Why, he was the only one left
Of his kind
And another gorilla
he was trying to find
So let’s not be unkind
And let every one of the endangered species live
That would be the best present to nature
Anyone could ever give

Beautiful Seasons

Seasons change
There are so many of changes around Earth.
Flowers grow, bees buzz, new eggs.
Snow crunches, so do leaves when autumn comes.
Families by the fire in winter.
Then spring comes again.
Daffodils growing.
New tadpoles.
Baby chicks hatch.
April showers of rain.
There’s loads of seasons to enjoy.

On Our Way to School

1
by Sycamore Class aged 6 and 7

On my way to school I saw
a hippo in a bath
a gorilla walking down the street
and a cat driving along in his car.

On my way to school I saw
a cheetah strolling by
a giraffe sitting in a tree
and a giant ant eating pie.

On my way to school I saw
a chicken on the phone
an elephant in a tutu
and a hedgehog all alone.

Halloween

by Margaret Brown aged 9

Inspired by Robert Frost

Whose house this is I do not know
I hope they do have candy though
I hope they see me stopping here
To give me candy and then I’ll go

With my bag of candy here,
I will not have any fear
I will not ever shake
I will eat candy all year

No, you have not mistaken
My candy will not be taken
I hear the wind swooping and sweeping
My sister says she is not scared, but I can tell she is faking

This road is super dark and deep
But I have all this candy to keep
And many houses to go before I sleep
And many houses to go before I sleep

Depression

0
by Naa-iemah Abrahams

She cut’s her wrist
and lets the blood flow
like a river.

Her tears turn solid
so that it stay with her
forever.

She doesn’t see
a purpose in this world
and wishes she could disappear forever

She fights this everyday
not knowing
if she’ll see her tomorrow…

Fireworks Laughing Display

by Skandesh aged 7

Loud fireworks banging
Sparklers whizzing around
Rockets shooting up like a gun to the air
Wheel fireworks going around

Machine making me laugh
Making big laughing noises
Laughing like a chatterbox
And a phone taking pictures
