Alex Claire

by Hamidah Kolawole aged 11

Alex Claire, liked to text without getting any rest.
She didn’t have any time to make a single dime.

One day, Alex texted a stranger which led to great danger.
She thought he had great fame but didn’t know he was really lame.

After eating, Alex got beaten. But before that, she lied to mama
that she was going over to Sasha’s.

And mama said my poor baby is gone,
she didn’t even wait to see dawn

Magician Dr Eldoonie
Would probably beat Rooney
Gosh, 255 tricks
For Rooney that’s like 1000 kicks!

My Castle

3
by Isabelle Green aged 10

My castle stands tall and proud
above sad shades of blue and green

The sea is chasing the mango sunset
that is burning above the horizon

The big bare sky
has blending colours of pink and brown

In the distance the clouds are like warriors
fighting in a never ending battle

The isolated cliffs are like chipped peices of solid gold
locked in the most dirty dull dark prison

The castle Is made of old chisled stone
strong enough that the most treacherous beast
will not be able to enter

The turrets are like dragon skins
rotting in the damp rain

The wind carries the golden flag
through the emerald hills

This is my castle
What is yours?

Laughter

by Abid Khan aged 8

He’s funny as a bunny,
but then his tummy started
to ache
when he ate a cake.
He started to be as funny as a bunny
But in May he is like a dummy.

Being Sick

by Tazkia Dokrat aged 8

Being sick
Is not my pick,
It needs a kick
Not a lick!
You sometimes get bored
It just can’t be ignored,
Tell your lord
Who probably has a Ford
That being sick
is not my pick.

Christmas

2
by Harshita Das aged 10

Christmas is here
With snow and ice
Santa Claus with presents
For those who are nice

Jingling the bells
Reindeer with the sleigh
All being happy
And going Neigh! Neigh!

Playing with presents
Placed on the tree
Christmas is finally here
YIPEE!!!

Christmas

by Khalid aged 7

Christ was born
He is God’s son
Reparing for Christmas is expensive
Is it Christmas yet?
Stockings for presents
Tearing open presents
Meeting your family
At Santa’s grotto, telling him what you want
Santa is the best

Winter (acrostic poem)

by Olexandra Balan aged 7

Winter is the time to play
In the snow every day.
Now it’s icy and you can
Take your skates
Entertain yourself,
Running on the rink.

Winter

Winter’s here
Get up and cheer,
Or stay sat down
With your ugly frown.

It’s up to you
What you do,
Play in the snow
Or, put on a fashion show!

I’m not gonna force it
Get those candles lit,
Enjoy it a bit
Look out for grit

You might just wanna bake
Or eat a cake,
You could get your filed mug
And cuddle your pug.

Possibilities are endless
Surely you can’t be friendless
Just have some fun
Soon it’ll be done!(:
