Magic

by Brooke aged 11

Magic is not always there,
But if you look with a lot of care,
You could find what you want to be there,
Whether it’s mermaids, fairies, unicorns or elves,
The first thing to do is find the magic in yourself,
If you believe it will come to you,
Anything can happen which you want to.

Last Night I Saw The House

0
by Lewis Kemsley aged 10

Last night, I the house laughed
Television giggled at what was showing
Quilts split their sides
Carpets creased themselves.

Last night, I saw the house staring
Lights didn’t dare to blink
Television danced slowly in the moonlight
The clock clapped at me
Teddy bears closed their sleepy eyes.

Last night, I saw the house breathing
Chest of drawers sniffing the smell of food
Rubbish bag talking to the chair
Windows blinking tiredly
Boxes sleeping quietly late at night.

Last night, I saw the house dancing
Curtains closing with a jam
Toys preforming a samba
Fat open books waltzing
And the door, screeched opened and closed to the cha cha cha.

Last night, I saw the house sleeping
Tables snoring loudly
Rubbers tucked themselves in bed
Blinds

The Spotty Tray

0
by Lewis Kemsley aged 10

I will put in my tray
The crack of coins crunching and clashing together,
A spotty lion slowly playing the piano,
A horse galloping as fast as his legs could carry him into the fields.

I will put in my tray
An ugly green gremlin staring at humans,
A great big hippo jogging around the zoo,
A big yellow pencil jumping in the air,

I will put in my tray
A trolley writing a lovely piece of work,
A poster bursting to laughter after the curtains told a joke,
A snowman smiling like there is no tomorrow

I will put in my tray
A beautiful stunning sun shining above the house,
A car flying over the track,
And an elephant stomping like a building is being destroyed.

My tray is fashioned with curls
An awesome brilliant book having a boogie,
A big monkey having a rock.
I will jump in my tray
A football hopped in excitement,
A pencil case bounced up and down.

Wait For Love

Waiting, waiting,
For the sign of life.
Waiting, waiting,
For my future.
To wait is to live.
To live is to love.
So be patient and wait.
Wait for love.

Under My Bed

0
by Holly Jenkins aged 8

When the night time comes, and it’s time to go to bed,
The lights go out, the quilt gets tucked,
then thoughts rush through my head.

Are there witches at the windows, monsters in my drawer,
is that a ghostly giant hand opening my door?

The black crow in the tree outside stares at me from his hole.
His black eyes seem to pierce mine, and stare into my soul.

I hear a noise beneath my bed, my heart begins to thump,
Now somethings crawling up my bed, a purring hairy lump.

The lump turns out to be my cat, we’ve had him from a stray,
That means he’s tough and now I’m safe, he’s chased them all away.

Last Night

by Kelsey aged 10

Last night, I saw the classroom growing,
Flowers jumping out the soil,
Leaves dancing to the sound of the wind
Dancing up and up

Last night, I saw the classroom breathing,
Shadows whistling all around,
Children standing with their mouths open
The drawers open and shutting like a bear’s mouth

Last night, I saw the classroom moaning,
Teachers’ mouths moving quickly,
Kids bursting into tears
Birds shouting tweet tweet

Last night, I saw the classroom dancing,
Kids glancing and twirling around,
Teachers going to the ball room
The class was full of music

Last night, I saw the classroom crying
Tables crumbling down,
Children beside each other
Tissues flowing down

Last night, I saw the classroom sleeping,
Blinds closed their eyes,
Pencils lay fast asleep
