by Ashni aged 10

Then I wanted to make it fall.
But however hard I tried,
To push it aside,
It wouldn’t move at all!

Abyss

by Ellie

There is an abyss,
an abyss of hate and fear.

There is an abyss,
an abyss of hurt and longing.

There is an abyss,
an abyss I am falling into.

There is an abyss, an abyss,
deep inside my soul.

Shadows, shadows
here and there

everywhere

In my house

after dark

Shadows, shadows
here and there
They follow me
everywhere

Penguin

Penguins sliding on the ice
all falling over like rolling dice
diving into the deep blue sea
hopefully catching a fish for tea

Penguins are soft
even though they cough
penguins are cute in the frozen sea
penguins come round for tea

It was made out of lots of crushed bean,

Happiness is…

0
by Jorja Bean-Mundy aged 11

Happiness is seeing your best friend
laugh when you laugh, cry when you cry.
Happiness is that one unexpected bar of chocolate
hiding in your sock drawer.
Happiness is that song you always hear on the radio
and eventually you know the name.
But sometimes happiness isn’t always there.
Sometimes your happiness
gets all used up for a while
and it feels as if a dark cloud
will hover over you forever.
But you can’t give up!
You must keep moving,
take that leap and run.
Run as far as you can from that dark cloud.
You’ll be chasing happiness
and finally, you catch your breath,
and happiness!
