Chinese New Year
Houses are cleaned
I collect ang paus
Need to give ang paus
Exciting
Supermarkets are full
Every location is filled
Neighbors come for dinner
Everybody is joyful
Welcoming relatives
You will be happy
Everybody going for vacation with families
All children play fire crackers
Red lanterns are hung
Chinese New Year is great fun
All under the big red sun
There once was a book,
Who liked to look,
For all of his new friends.
He searched his shelf,
Looking for help,
To find a new friend.
Eventually he found a new book,
And he said that he would cook.
After that they went back to the shelf,
And went to sleep,
Just like the elf.
Blue is the shimmering sea,
Blue is as good as can be.
Blue is a tasty gummy bear,
Blue is a colour for all to share.
Blue is the juicy berry that melts in your mouth,
Blue is the bluebells of the south.
Blue is the butterfly that flutters around,
Blue is the whale that makes a loud sound.
When I started singing
Why did everyone run away?
Did they have something else to do?
Or were they having a bad day?
Maybe their families were sick
Or they had some important work to do
But then how could everyone?
I mean no-one remain, not even a few
Was it because of…
Oh I know now what’s going on and what’s true
I mean my unique singing
Can be heard for a mile or two!
I have a pet turtle
His name is Ballad
He is the best at hide and seek
And he never shares his salad
I have a pet ostrich
Her name is Big Hind
She could beat you in a running race
And her eggs are hard to find
I have a pet parrot
Her name is May
She steals my cashews
And repeats everything I say
