Last night, I the house laughed
Television giggled at what was showing
Quilts split their sides
Carpets creased themselves.
Last night, I saw the house staring
Lights didn’t dare to blink
Television danced slowly in the moonlight
The clock clapped at me
Teddy bears closed their sleepy eyes.
Last night, I saw the house breathing
Chest of drawers sniffing the smell of food
Rubbish bag talking to the chair
Windows blinking tiredly
Boxes sleeping quietly late at night.
Last night, I saw the house dancing
Curtains closing with a jam
Toys preforming a samba
Fat open books waltzing
And the door, screeched opened and closed to the cha cha cha.
Last night, I saw the house sleeping
Tables snoring loudly
Rubbers tucked themselves in bed
Blinds
