by Sienna McFarlane Hamilton aged 10

Stars are bright to light up the night
Stars are bright to lead us at night
Stars are bright so we’re alright
Stars are bright to make sure we’re bright

The Error of the Fairy

0
by Rhys McCarron aged 9

When I wave my magic wand
The Earth stands still like a pond
Though one day I lost it. I lost it!
I was told to search in the pool of wit
But there was no magic there, not a bit
And I asked a butterfly
He told me to look in the sky
The sky was full of things I say
And once I happened to lose my way
And then I found my wand
In a little humble pond
In joy I turned it round twice
And then the sky was full of little mice

Magic Dust

I skimped across the
garden’s ground,
to follow a little sound,
I saw a spark,
and heard a bark,
and saw a bottle of fairy dust.
I opened the lid but I must say,
it was magic all the same,
I had better go and find out what,
but I can say it is magic dust.

Where Has My Magic Gone?

* * * * * * WINNING POEM * * * * * *

Oh! You! Yes you!
Have you seen it? Has it flown by?
With green hairs and a sparkly purple eye
Or was it red fins and a polka dotted tie?
You see, it is many things,
Like you and I,
Except it is different,
It is my crown, my world’s sky!
Oh, have you seen it?
Oh! Where has my Magic gone?

Alacorn (a Unicorn with Wings)

0
by Hailey Watkins aged 11

One day I was walking down the street
to find my path blocked by a unicorn with wings.
I hope he doesn’t stab me with that thing,
and I hope he doesn’t fly away,
for I’ve never seen a more beautiful being.

All This is Life…

The stars played playfully in the moonlight sky
The wind danced with the trees
The fire roared angrily with all its anger
The tornado dashed through the country without care
The avalanche ran to catch the humans
The grass screamed in horror as the child picked the flower up
The tree was excited, he got new clothes in winter
The world never slept
The light woke up happily spreading the joy for people to wake up
All this is life…

The Sheep Magic

by Salahuddin Waseem aged 11

I found a wand at my feet
And I waved it around
After a few seconds I heard a bleat
I looked around and then I looked down
A ball of white on the ground
I waved the wand and the ball dissappeared
and a black smoke was all around me

Crystal Colours

1
by Anna Golding aged 11

When the sunshine came,
I went red like flame.
So very high,
I burned the sky.
I shimmer and shine,
I’m smoother than twine.
My edges rimmed colour gold,
My pinks and purples are bold.
My mirage of colours swim together,
In a stream of colours entwined forever.

The Magical Book!

0
by Rachel Orr aged 11

I found this magical book.
I had to take a second look…

As it moved around my room.
Then hit me with a broom.

It then opened my door.
So it could go and explore.

It ran and ran..
Until it banged into my Dad’s van!

So that’s the story of the magical book.
I’m glad I had a second look!
