Where is the Magic?

0
by Brooke aged 11

Magic is not always there,
But if you look with a lot of care,
You could find what you want to be there,
Whether it’s mermaids, fairies, unicorns or elves,
The first thing to do is find the magic in yourself,
If you believe it will come to you,
Anything can happen which you want to.

Crow and Throw

by Hamidur Rahman aged 12

1 Birds, crows flying all around,
Squarking and barking.
3 Being safe and sound,
It is really remarking.
5 Kicking the football all around,
singing a song while walking around.
7 We need to be safe and sound,
While going on the round-about.
9 This the the end of the magnificent poem,
I hope you have a really good time.

The Bull Within Her Fingers

 * * * * * * WINNING POEM * * * * * *

He leapt through the forest,
Brushing past the clouds,
With eyes; blurry, teary and confused
With trembling lips, he began murmuring
To the snickering streams
And the beautiful, babbling brooks
Yet somehow they ignored him
He swiveled around and saw the soldiers,
All perspiring, panting and blood-stained
Yet they never gave up galloping,
On their thundering, pounding stallions
For they were after him
But they didn’t want the boy,
They wanted his legacy,
Woven into the lion skin, draped around his chest
He stroked the spellbinding embroidery,
Which made up a bull,
Woven by his grandmother’s needle and thread,
It still held the fragrance,
Of her sweet sandalwood
As she lay writhing in the embrace of death,
And gradually passed away,
Suddenly, from within him,
A majestic bull leapt out
With beady eyes and ivory horns,
It picked the soldiers by their collars,
And hurled them away,
And just as the boy reached out to thank it,
The bull began to fade away,
And crouching within the shadowy bushes,
Of the forest,
The boy began pondering and wondering,
How was it that within his frail old grandma’s fingers
This valiant, charging bull had thrived?
And woven into the lion cloth on his chest,
The bull smiled up at him,
His beady eyes glimmering with his dying grandma’s
Mystical Magic

Magic of Fairies

0
by Euodea Lee aged 11

Fairies are as tiny as a mouse
though their magic is powerful.
The fairy’s magic
is fantastic.
Their magic is full of colors
which is loved by others.
They secretly play funny jokes
on almost every folk.
Oh! How magical are fairies!

Down from Heaven

0
by Charlie Dodd aged 10

Rings of gold above their head,
White magic defeats the red.
Devils gone before my eyes,
Angels fly like butterflies.

Horns of death on their head,
Dislike white but love blood red.
Angels turn dark within their touch,
Devils love to kill very much.

The battle arena as the overworld,
A tornado of madness swirls.
Magic of white,
Magic of red,
Swirl together and messes with you head.

Oh My! Golly Me!

by Venus Chaudhry aged 10

I was walking down the beach
when a tail swished in the sea
The possibility of this my mind could not reach
Oh My! Oh Golly Me!
A beautiful mermaid, the most beautiful I’d ever seen
swished it’s tail in the sea

I was walking down the park path when a trotting came down the road
When a glimmering light gleamed down from what I could see
My walking had slowed
Oh My! Oh Golly Me!
A gorgeous unicorn, the most sparkly I had ever seen
had a glimmering horn that gleamed

I was walking to my home
When a roar came from the woods
A creature with a mouth full of foam
Oh My! Oh Golly Me!
A fierce dragon, with glowing red eyes
had roared from the woods

I opened the front door and went to sleep
when a shining light flew around
It happened while I was counting sheep
Oh My! Oh Golly Me!
A jingling fairy, her wings spread out wide
flew around the room in a glide

Oh My! Oh Golly Me!
What a day!
What a day!
This day has made me sway

Well oh well
Oh well oh well
Time for another day

Braces

by May aged 11

I have braces
I got them on the 7th March 2016.
I have nearly had them on a year!
They hurt a little bit but not too much (which is good).
I have wax to protect my lips
to stop the braces rubbing on my lips.
I get my braces tightened every 10 weeks
to move my teeth to make them straight!

The Seasons in the Woods

by Kit aged 6

On the way through the woods
I love smelling the bluebells.

On the way through the woods
I love listening to the birdsong.

On the way through the woods
I love picking up pine cones.

On the way through the woods
I love seeing animal tracks in the snow.

At home I like eating the nuts.

The Eating Delight

2
by Harshita Das aged 10

If you are like me
And you like to eat
Fridge will be heaven
For it’s filled with juice and meat

It’s filled with tasty donuts
And eggs and things which are sweet
There are tons more things
For you and me to eat

It has cake and sandwich rolls
And tasty cheesy cheese
And when my mom tells me to go to the fridge
I always say, “Yes Please”

It has sandwiches and ice-cream
Those treats are so yummy
And no doubt that
They never fail to fill my tummy

There are fruit cakes and fruit pies
And fruit shakes too
And egg rolls and chocolates
I’d like a few

It contains curd and yogurt
And also delicious ham and pie
The only problem is
THOSE VEGETABLES *sigh*
