Sunlight, sunlight
beautiful and bright.
Come out at day
but not at night.

My Pencil

0
by Mason Jacques aged 10

My pencil is kind of small and is green
It was made in a factory from a tree
I like my pencil, please don’t steal it
I like my pencil and like being me

Oh my gosh, my pencil just broke in half
Well now I need a pencil that is new
Now lead is everywhere, I need the staff
I just got a new pencil and it’s blue

I use my pencil daily and well
When I use it there is not broken lead
When I use my pencil it’s very swell
Now I have to go home and go to bed

But if I break my pencil with something
Don’t be scared if you hear your doorbell ring

Teachers

1
by Mason Jacques

The teachers at my school are nice,
None of them like to argue,
Most of them just teach and teach,
They don’t do anything else for the whole day.

I kind of feel bad for the teachers at my school,
Especially the new ones that get the bad kids,
Also they only get a little bit of a break,
They need more time away.

Most of the time they have meetings,
So they never have time to be free,
Teachers need more break time,
When they go home they do school work too.

Teachers work at school by teaching kids,
Then they do after school work and then,
They go home and do more school work,
Even on the weekends they do school work.

Even after church on Sunday they do school work,
They need a break and they need one now,
Teachers need to take some fake sick days for breaks,
Because they really need them.

All I am trying to say is that teachers need a break,
Teachers are always forced to work and teach kids,
So teachers I have one thing to tell you,
Go take a break

The Pot

by Helena aged 8

There was a little pot.
I made it out of clay.
I made noodles in it
Every single day.

I Found Her Dad

1
by Madison aged 8

Once I was sitting in a tree
then a girl came up to me
she said, Are you my dad?
I did not know what to say
so I said, Yes
she was happy
I went home
I was homeless
but I did not tell her
then I heard a knock
it was her dad

I’ll Soar Through

0
by Harshita Das aged 10

I’ll soar through the skies
Like a flying bird
I’ll fly with my friends
I’ll go with the herd

I’ll be free in the skies
I’ll soar through
And fly so high
In the skies so blue

I’ll be free
I’ll never be alone
Because I’ll be with my friends
And family

I’ll spread my wings
And be brave and jump off
Though that would only happen
If I were a bird

My Life Story

0
by Harshita Das aged 10

So right now
I’ll tell you the story of my life
This is basically my life
So relax sit back and enjoy

First day of the term
This time I’ll get first
I’ll rise and shine
And become best from the worst

First week
Okay… this is getting tough
This year as usual
Is going to be really rough

Seeing the syllabus for Half yearly
Oh my gosh this is so tough
I can’t get good marks
It’s just too rough

During half yearly
Seriously, is my every question going to be wrong
These answers are too tough
They are just too long

After Half yearly
Oh my gosh, I’m never touching a book again
If I do then
They’ll just eat up my brain

Two weeks after Half yearly
Aha, this is life, no books
I’m never seeing a book again
They have too bad of looks

Seeing the finals syllabus
Oh my gosh, how am I going to pass?
I’m going to do badly
And get horrible marks

During Finals studies
These exams are going to take really long
And probably
I’ll get most questions wrong

During Finals
No way, these questions aren’t for a ten year old
The ones who can do them, well…
THEY’RE WORTH THEIR WEIGHT IN GOLD

After Finals
This is the finest time of the year
All those studies are too much
Too much for ME to bear

After seeing my report card
Oh no, this has gone off plan
This is too much
Too much for a man

But at least I passed
And next time I’ll be first
I’ll rise and shine
Get the best from the worst…

The Ginger Bread House

0
by Harshita Das aged 10

Okay, so today I’ll make a gingerbread house
I want it to be pure chocolate and very sweet
And I want it to be purely edible
And if anyone wants they can eat

I want to have chocolate walls
Vanilla toppings and chocolate chips
I also want a gingerbread man to be there
I’ll make his face to hips

I’ll make blueberry borders
And get water for windows
I’ll make a tie for the gingerbread man
And a small strawberry bow

I’ll have tiny chairs and tables
Made of sweet bread
I’ll also get a nice TV
And a big bunk bed

After making it all up and while doing the finishing touches
I made a tiny mistake
And the whole gingerbread house toppled over
Which I’m not going to remake

Magic Crayons

0
by Harshita Das aged 10

I have a set of magic crayons
From which I can draw anything
From a small crab to
A beautiful pair of wings

I can draw the rainbow
I can make another Sun
I can even make pizza
Or something smaller like a bun

I can make beautiful candles
I can make dogs and cats
I can make dresses and shoes
And bangles and hats

I can re-make the Universe
Or re-create the Earth if I want
Or stick to making sushi
Or better, a free restaurant

I can make ice creams
I can make nuts
I can make flats
Or small huts

I can make whatever I want
But as I want nothing…
You’ll never see the magic
Of my imaginary magic crayons!!!
