My Shoe!!!

by Natalia Mierzwa aged 7

My shoe, my shoe
Look at my shoe
It is flying in the air
Like a bird, too!

My shoe, my shoe
Look at my shoe
Twirling in the air
Like a rainbow, too!

My shoe, my shoe
Look at my shoe
Shining in the air
Like a shiny coin, too!

My shoe, my shoe
Look at my shoe
It is popping in the air
Like a popcorn, too!

My shoe, my shoe
Look at my shoe
It is tweeting
Like a cockatoo, too!

Bird, bird
Look at me!
I can do loop the loop with you!

Bird, bird
See me fly
Why can I fly?

Why, bird why?

Mummy, I love you to the moon and back
Mummy, you are the best of all
Mummy, I love you, I love you, I love you
I don’t know what I would do without you
Mummy, Mummy, with all my heart
I will be kind and buy you things
Mummy, Mummy, with all my heart
It’s time for me to say a big
thank you

Transitions

Goodbye fourth grade, hello fifth grade
We’ve made great memories that won’t fade

New teachers and classmates,
Time to close old doors and open new gates

So many things to do and see
Being friendly is the key

The only thing everyone will ask from you
Is to show PRIDE in all that you do

Hopefully the teachers won’t torture us
But just in case let’s not make a fuss

Whatever we do we have to help our peers
Just remember, everyone has different fears

Have fun,
And learn a ton!!!!

The Worst Day at School!

by Ellie Harris aged 7

Today was the worst day at school!
My teachers were shouting
My coat got lost

Today was my worst day at school!
I got detention
I felt really ill

Today was my worst day at school!
But when I got home
Mum had made yummy chocolate cake
And that made me cheer up!

Auntie Helen Has Gone to Heaven

0
by Adam Rafael Holmes aged 7

Auntie Helen was 82 years old
When her eyes were closed and arms were afold.
She died a few weeks ago
And this is something that I know.

She followed the light that goes up to Heaven
She left when I was only 7.
The angels said, “You are welcome here.”
From high in the sky they can see so clear.

Angels are lovely.
Old spirits they are.
They check if you are good or bad
Try to make sure you are not sad,
The shine from their halos spreads out far.

You should not be sad Auntie Helen has died
She has Dinkie, Gem and Uncle Bry by her side.

Can you come back as a ghost
To tell me what you have seen?
About the gardens of flowers
And grass so green,
Where you can do your sowing and planting
Pumpkins for Halloween.

When you come back again,
A cat you might be
To live as my pet and fetch mice for me.
You could talk like Puss in Boots.
Or become a tree with long roots.
Perhaps a bow-head whale,
You would flip and flap your tail.
Beware people on ships looking over the rail.
For two hundred years you could sail.
Or be a crocodile and talk with me on the land
Because if you are a whale you might get stuck in the sand.

If you are sad when someone has died
You will get too frightened when you rest
And you might cry.

In Heaven it must be fun
When you go up there you can find everyone.
There might be competitions and games to be won.

Auntie Helen is back in Heaven
Now her teacher life on Earth is done.

Too Many Snacks

by Harshita Das aged 10

Too many snacks
A hotdog, a pancake
A piece of cheese
And about pizza
Oh yes please!!

Burgers, Bacon
I want all of it
I’m going to finish it up
Every bit by bit

A cookie
Some steak
Some spaghetti
And cake

Some porkchops
Chicken fries
Wait, so all those free offers
So were they all lies?

Life of a Butterfly

0
by Harshita Das aged 10

Life of a Butterfly
Fluttering here and there
Searching for flowers
Making baby plants
With its magical powers

Making everyone jealous
Giving birth to future ones of their kind
And so many more things
That would just blow your mind

Sucking nectar and honey
Having beautiful wings
Hiding from people
And a million more things

So let’s respect butterflies
And instead of catching them in the net
Get cats or dogs instead
For they make a better pet.

Becoming a Feeder?!?!

Once a little guest came in our house
And it was a cat, who was stray
So we gave her some food
And she started to come here everyday!

She came here asking for food
Asking for milk and bread
And after a while she started to like us
And on our roof, made her bed

Then the next day
She brought in a few more guests
And every one of them
Had a bigger appetite than the rest

After that day
A new cat came here everyday
They came in asking for food
And they always got a tray

Then finally, after like feeding a trillion cats
My mom got annoyed and shooed them away
And we never saw them
They never came any day

Then after a month or so
I found a dog who was stray…
