Venice It’s Late

0
by Francesca aged 10

The canal sits
Calmly waiting
For dawn to break.

The clock tower claps
As it reaches 12 o’clock
Shouting,
Venice, it’s late!

Houses snore;
the city sleeps-
as it waits
for daybreak.

The ice cream stools stand
Tall and proud
Shivering in the moon light.

The city sleeps
As it waits,
Waits for new life.

The London Eye

0
by James Barbrook aged 10

The London Eye
It twists and turns
Throughout the day and night.

It peers
Over the Thames
Looking over London.

It keeps watch over
The Houses of Parliament
Waiting for discussions to be made.

It glances over Big Ben,
Waiting for it to strike 12.

Spinning and spinning
Until it turns to dusk,
Waiting for the moment to come-it must

The Secrets of London

0
by Thomas aged 10

The London Eye,
Stands tall,
Scanning the city,
Watching-waiting.

The River Thames,
Waits calmly,
Peering over the city,
At dusk.

Westminster Abbey,
Sits patiently,
In the icy breeze,
Yawning its head off.

Big Ben,
Stands proud,
Communicating,
To the London Eye.

The Westminster Bridge,
Stretches its back,
As cars go by.

The O2,
Curves over,
Shivering in the cold,
Waiting to be seen again.

A Night in London

0
by Oliver aged 11

Westminster Abbey,
awaits to inhale more
politics

Wind sprints through the city,
dodging buildings;
the themes waves at the city.

The Queen Elizabeth Tower,
tells the city the time.

The London Eye sees everything,
twirling its eye,
scanning the city.

As the lights go out;
the city sleeps
snoring loudly
as the London Eye lazily moves

Aliens

Aliens are green,
They are mean.
Four eyes they own,
I think they’re sewn.

Aliens are made out of slime,
I wouldn’t keep it as mine.
For them, it is hard to spell.

When London Sleeps

0
by Esmé aged 11

The twinkle of the eye
A spark of energy
Shimmers dazzlingly
Never to die.

It dances slowly,
As if on a stage,
Prancing with its reflection
Off the Thames.

The Thames waves
To the sleeping houses,
Flowing to the song
Of London city.

The houses of parliament gaze half asleep:
Keeping guard over its home city
Protecting its territory.

The Westminster bridge
Sits patiently watching,
scanning the horizon for ships.

The city of London is waking,
Yawning into the day.
The sun is rising from its slumber,
And dawn is slowly breaking.

London

by George H aged 10

The London Eye,
giving an enjoyable experience
to all of its audience,
providing a pleasant ride.

Westminster Bridge,
dipping its many legs in the Thames,
strong and sturdy,
letting people walk over it with pride.

The famous Thames,
flowing smoothly, never stopping,
bragging about being one of the very best rivers.

Big Ben,
standing tall but looking small
Compared to the giant London Eye,
Whilst in the cold air of the night, it shivers.

London Life

The London Eye
illuminates the sky
filling it with bright colours

The Thames
dances as the audience
of the city watches in amazement.

The Queen Elizabeth tower
gazes over the city
taking care of all the people.
