Stole my heart

Mane of good and bad
Godly stripes of dark and light
Truly a wonder
Runner Up
Winter is cold,
there is snow tumbling from the sky,
the squirrels gather their nuts
and the wild birds fly.
The sly scarlet fox has it’s silk like fur to keep warm
and the mighty brown bear
sleeps deeply through the storm.
Runner Up
A white ball, the rabbit in a deep, deep place.
His eyes were filled with hearts,
and his body was moving in sand,
because he saw orange sticks lying around,
and green leafy balls,
as cool as a pool.
Hiding behind the hairy bushes,
the rabbit noticed twinkling stars in the sea and jumped in.
The rabbit wondered in the dark placed he jumped in.
He saw mermaids and saw some fish,
and a big big shark.
He was frightened so he jumped from the sea to a park.
The rabbit was freezing cold.
Warm he became as my hands held him tightly close to me.
Runner-up. For being such an amazingly LONG poem.
Wuff is a very lovely dog,
He is yellow, black and white.
It was an ice-age in his city
So he decided to fly to Barcelona
At 3 o’clock at night.
He stayed at a very colossal hotel
In room 159.
When Wuff finally found his room
He smelt something like burning wine.
When he opened the door, there was a big dragon on the bed.
It chased Wuff round the room five times,
Flew out of the hotel, into the garden
And then flew up into the sky.
Wuff felt relieved,
But when he went back into his room,
He heard an aggressive snap
And saw a crocodile reading a map!
The crocodile turned around and jumped.
He wrapped his long tail tight around Wuff.
Wuff very bravely patted the crocodile on the head
And happily the crocodile was not gruff.
Wuff pointed to the Lego and invited him to play
And the crocodile snapped, “Yes”.
But building the Lego City jail,
He kept whacking pieces of Lego with his tail.
Sometimes the models hit the wall and broke.
Afterwards, when they only had 40 pieces left,
The crocodile ate all the green pieces and two eyes.
Then he burped them out.
A wonderful model of a crocodile came out,
For Wuff, it was an amazing surprise.
He put it in his super secret collection of fantastic things.
Later Wuff needed the toilet,
But when he got close
He heard a faint moaning,
Like someone was annoyed and had started groaning.
Wuff called for the help of his trusty friend
And the crocodile came bounding up.
Slowly and carefully, Wuff opened the door
And saw a baby orca whale,
Stuck in the tub.
Wuff, with all his might,
Lifted the poor orca up
And put him onto the crocodile’s back.
The crocodile ran out of the room and hotel
As fast as he could
Passing some ducks who quickly quacked.
He knew there must be water
And came to a fountain.
The crocodile flipped his spiky tail back.
The baby orca flew as high as a mountain,
Landing very hard, with a great big SPLASH!!!
The whole crocodile was covered with spray.
Soaking wet, he ran back inside the same way.
Wuff covered him with six very large towels,
But the crocodile hated it and
Cried out with howls.
Once the crocodile was dry,
Wuff asked him “What is your name?”
“Crocky” said the crocodile, with a feeling of fame.
Then there was a strange rumbling noise,
But it was only Crocky’s tum.
Wuff said “What have we been eating?”
“Nothing”, said Crocky, “I’m starving, we’ve only had fun.”
So Wuff opened the window and yelled his wish,
“Hey, orca whale, will you throw us some fish
If you can find any in the fountain there?”
So the orca threw them fish and
They had a yummy lunch to devour and share.
After lunch, Wuff and Crocky became very sad
Because it was time for Wuff to go.
Just as Wuff was packing up his things
The door EXPLODED
And they shouted, “Oh no!”
A huge, shaggy, white polar bear
Was standing boldly in the door.
“Aaaaarrrrhhhh”, Wuff and Crocky screamed,
As the bear growled “ROOOOOAAAAARRR”.
Crocky snapped at the polar bear’s legs,
As the polar bear bit Wuff’s tail.
Then Wuff had a great idea:
He tied his jumper around the bear’s head
To blindfold him and rolled him onto the bed.
Wuff grabbed all his things,
Stuffed Crocky into his case
And hurried out the door.
Crocky was heavy though
Which did not help his grace.
“Not again”, thought Wuff,
Hearing the growls of the bear.
“Five, four, three, two, ONE”, he yelled
Because for the second time
The polar blew up the door,
But with Wuff’s suitcase, he was repelled.
When they got to the lift and were going down,
They could hear the polar bear hammering on the ceiling.
Poor Wuff and Crocky were squealing.
Then a voice rang out saying:
“Ahora, esta en el piso cero”,
(We are now on the ground floor),.
Which scared Wuff, so he screamed once more.
Crocky broke out of the suitcase
To stop the bear from getting Wuff.
They ran out of the lift, relieved.
But their luck was surely stuffed.
The polar bear’s head appeared through the roof of the lift,
Wild and snarling, his whole body emerged, bit by bit.
“RRUUNNNN” shouted Wuff.
So to the airport they ran and ran,
Followed in hot pursuit by the polar bear
Who, fortunately, tripped over a can.
At security, the polar was stopped and
Told he had to board the next plane.
“Thank God”, said Wuff, “We’re SAAAAVED!”
They reached the gate as fast as they could.
But the polar was behind them again!
Every second, he was catching up.
They jumped onto their flight,
Just two seconds before the doors were locked.
The bear jumped but, finally defeated,
Banged his head on the side of the plane.
He was like a wild piranha as he fought and knocked.
Wuff and Crocky decided right then
To live together in Wuff’s house in Hillshanks Moor.
They would play with the seabirds by the shore.
Wuff was so excited,
He held Crocky’s tail in his jaw.
Ali was an alligator.
A very kind and gentle guy.
He loved to eat cream and apple pie.
He was sometimes very shy.
And then he got adopted.
Where do the animals go
when summer turns into winter?
The sky turns grey,
the lions don’t roar and the cheetahs don’t run.
There is no food or grass and no protection.
The kangaroos don’t jump, the koalas don’t sleep.
Now the animals have turned against us,
what have we done?
A ball of candy floss everywhere
Eyes blinking in a long stare.
My heart is on you
Will you be my love?
Lying like a rug she stares
Beauty flying from her heart, she is mine.
Beware all animals
She, lurking in the shadows, ready to pounce.
Birds in the sky
So pretty at sunset
Flying around lots of time
Robins, blackbirds and humming birds
So many birds in the sky!
