I Wish

1
by Alana Ellison aged 9

I wish I could fly,
up in the sky,
higher than anyone else could if they tried.

I wish I could be a popstar
even if I was just a famous star,
I might be famous around the globe.

I wish I was a famous baker,
I could be a record breaker,
baking cookies and cakes.

I wish I could be a genie,
I would never be a meanie,
I could grant as many wishes as I could

Incredible Inventions

2
by Jemima:) aged 10

I have loads of great ideas for epic machines
Some that bloop and some that bleep
Ones that fly and ones that roll
I even have one that you can write poems on

My first invention heats up food
Oh, wait that’s a microwave
Anyway this one is way better
Wait for it…

Something that dries up things that are wet
Hold on a minute, mum is calling me downstairs…

Turns out that invention is called a towel

Now I’m a bit worried this has already been invented
But I’ll try it anyway!
Here goes, a thing that can spurt out water from high up to make you clean
Oh, damn it! That’s a shower.:(:(:(:(#failed

Oh well, guess it’s back to my job at Morrisons
I’ll be an inventor one day though
Because the key to doing anything is…
Never giving up

Genie

by Sofia N aged 11

A wish or three wouldn’t hurt
A genie once said to me
You could wish for anything
Anything beyond belief
A genie once said to me
But I wished nothing
I had my beyond belief

A Good Friend

by Sofia aged 11

A friend for me when hard times come

Right or wrong sticks by my side

Is always there when I need help

Endless hope in what I do

Never lets me down

Doesn’t let me down

A good friend

Funny Face

1
by Sofia aged 11

What happened to your face?
It is stuck in a funny place
We were only making faces
Now its stuck in several places
Oh no, the wind blew
That is what happened to you
Wind blew, face stuck
Oops, what should we do?

The Cat that Learnt to Talk

2
by Sofia aged 11

As he prowled around day after day
Until one day he began talk
My Mrs, you do treat me well
But I’m afraid you have a funny smell

Uh, you weird talking cat
You shall live no longer on the mat
And so the very next day
The funky cat was sent away

Blind Astronaut Adventure

by Dominique aged 8

There was once an astronaut called Nelly
She was blind with one eye.
Life was very tough for Nelly.
Every week her mum Olivia
Would drive her to lessons for the blind.
She was kind even though she was blind.

The Zombie Teacher

3
by Jemima:) aged 10

Today my teacher walked in like a zombie
She looked like a zombie
She talked like a zombie…
OMG MY TEACHER IS A ZOMBIE!!!

It really is quite an odd occasion
That the world gets caught up in a zombie invasion
Now I know what you’re thinking
Run away you crazy person!!!

I wanted to I really did
But I was frozen to the floor in fear
(I was also really tired. We’d just had gym.)
The teacher went outside at break with all the other kids

I waited and I waited until I could wait no more
In the YR6 classroom till I heard a knock at the door
Creeping carefully and cautiously, I peeked through the window
A gzillion billion trillion darkened faces staring back at me

The door was slowly opened by the one who infected them all
They trudged in before me chanting ,”Brains, brains, brains!”
And I was transformed into a zombie just like them all
So now I’m sitting writing this with my creepy zombie hands

I wonder if there is a reason that our teacher became a zombie?
Lack of sleep? Not enough food?
Oh I’ve got it! She began to turn a shade of green when the class just wouldn’t shut up
Well that’s a lesson for all of us. Never disobey your teacher when she tells you to be quiet
Or you could end up turning into a zombie just like me

Then again work can be really hard sometimes so why not settle with a loud whisper?;)
