Just to Say I Love You

by Elsie aged 12

I will travel across the ocean for you
I will fly to the moon and back
I will find the rarest flower for you
There is no doubt about that
I will risk my life for you
Just to know you’re safe
Because I love you
I hope you love me back

Home Education

Going to school might not be fun,
but sometimes not for everyone,
they might like school they might not,
in this case this is a different one,
I am home-educated it’s not what you think,
it’s not play all day and do what you like,
it’s just like school but at home,
you still do work but alone,
your parents help you, guide you along,
did you know you could do your GCSE at 14!
No hassle like at school,
just comfy in your home doing your work!
All along, groups you can go to,
to meet other home ed people,
I love it 🙂

My hat is old, my teeth are gold
I have a bird I like to hold…

War

1
by Ava aged 7

Dust and dirt from the sky
Fall where the soldiers lie
In the thick mud
Where the soldiers stood
Wives and children lived in fear
Knowing that every year
Soldiers lay in Flanders fields
On the 11th of November
We remember the soldiers to fought in the war.

Penguin Paradise!

by Gloria Manga aged 10

Penguin Paradise,
Penguin Paradise so the penguins say,
an icy place with snow and fog
and the skies are mostly grey.

Penguin Paradise,
Penguin Paradise the penguins need to pay,
for food and drinks and furniture, and some pay for ballet!

Penguin Paradise,
Penguin Paradise where the penguins lay,
inside their beds they tuck in their feet and await another day…

One Million Dinosaurs – Part Two

1
by Levi aged 8

I’m Jamie,
The dinosaur who fell of a cliff,
I’m crying, because, my friends got shot by a U.F.O.
But, I can make new friends, here in the jungle!
Oh, hi, Tyrannosaurus Rex the Bex,
Your still alive,
Want some CHILDREN?!
Oh, you do?
O.K., let’s GOOOOOOOOOO!

Ping Ping, Toast for Breakfast,
Yum like a WAFFLE…! I love it with Jam,
my heart fills with joy!
“CRUNCH!” goes the Toast
when you eat it.
Oh, I feel toasty enough for 1000000 more!

My Life

by Iona aged 11

My life is very simple you see,
it is more than just about me.
I’ll laugh, I’ll cry, but I’ll always be
the daughter of some lovely parents!
I have a lot of friends, more than you can count,
they are all lovely, no doubt.
I have an amazing family,
what a wonderful family tree,
and I know one thing for sure,
my life is full of glee!

My Dreams – a Poem about Slavery

0
by Lucy Cohen aged 9

My dreams are here to stay,
Not to be crushed,
Despite other people’s actions,
Because of my colour.

Their hearts of cold iron,
Making me do this,
Rocks balancing on my head,
My dreams are here to stay.

Stench of defeat
In my bones,
Everyone is frozen with fear,
My dreams are here to stay.

I’m missing the colour of the sun,
Thinking of the blue sky,
When will my freedom appear?
My dreams are here to stay.

Hope is a fragile seed.
Right now,
My dreams are here to stay,

Lost in a sea of nameless faces,
I need to be remembered,
Here I am.
My dreams are here to stay.
