Choo Choo Train

by Nabeel Hussain aged 12

You’re happy that you’re on the train
As you don’t want to be in the rain
But when you hear the train go choo, choo
You feel like your going to have the flu’
You go through the mood
Where you want to eat some food
Then you come to your stop
On your way home you see a takeaway shop.

The Legend of Evergreen

0
by Harshita Das aged 11

On a dark, cold winter night
A bird breaks its wing
And down she goes, yelping in pain
Unable to fly
With her friends
To the warmer place
Whimpering
She asks the nearby birch
“Help me, I have broken my wing.”
The birch, beautiful and proud
Says haughtily
“I know my priorities
I take care of the bird of the forest.”
She asks the big, strong oak
To which the oak answers
“I cannot,
I am worried because you will eat my acorns.”
Even the
Otherwise kind and gentle willow
Refuses to talk to strangers
Distressed
She asks the spruce
To which the tree answers
“I would be honoured,”
As it spreads out its branches.
Inspired
By this kind act
The pine proposes to protect both
From the bitter wind
The juniper
Offers its fruits to the bird
The Frost king
Closely watches all this
And instructs the North wind
Not to touch a single leaf
Of the spruce, pine or the juniper
However
It could play with the other trees
All it wanted
And each winter
The north wind strips bare
All the leaves of the others
And it is for this kindness
That the pine, spruce and juniper
Keep their greenery
Or so the legend says

Christmas

by Jay Everton-Jones aged 8

Christmas is snow,
Christmas is snow.
Christmas is mince pie and turkey,
Children having fun.
It’s warm and snuggly.

Christmas is fun,
Christmas is fun.
Christmas is presents and giving,
The smell of turkey coming from the kitchen.
Sleighing down the biggest hill you can find.

When Santa’s roaming you are sleeping,
At lunch you are laughing,
Opening your presents with love and pride,
That is Christmas everyone.

Christmas Morning

by Marcie Meredith aged 8

Every dazzling Christmas,
I wake up like never before,
Not even being tired.
I hear the morning crackle
And the fire freckle.
I open my stocking with a flabbergasted smile.
As lunch arrives,
I eat my turkey, as people laugh and cheer,
Hurray!
Dessert comes and I’m already full up,
I eat as fast as a spotty cheetah.

Christmas Poem!

by Ella Linscott aged 9

Christmas is the most wonderful time of the year,
To spend with family and bring you cheer.
Put up a Christmas tree,
Decorate it ’til it’s done.
Christmas Christmas, a nice time to play with your family.

So eat your lunch,
Yum yum yum chicken or turkey,
Open your presents,
Stocking too, wow!

What a surprise!
A guinea pig,
Oh I see an elf or maybe Santa!

Santa ate too many pies,
The reindeers ate them too,
But reindeers only eat carrots!
Merry Christmas everyone!

Christmas

Christmas, you’re asleep and excited to open your presents,
To see if Santa has eaten your mince pies and taken the carrots.

You caught Santa flying away,
You look in your stocking in the morning,
Then your tree and find presents in both.

You look at the baubles,
Then you shout.
Christmas breakfast.
You open the cracker. Boom!
Now you are playing in the icy, soft snow.

Elf on the Shelf

by Gracie Clark aged 8

Elf on the shelf is here to play,
In our house every day.
But only from the 1st to the 25th December,
Every year I have to remember.
Oh how I wish the year was quicker,
and my food tastes bitter,
cos I miss you elf.
There’s loads of sadness in myself,
But I know he’ll be back again,
So I mustn’t feel sad.

Christmas is life,
The ground is white,
Wrapping paper everywhere.
No mince pies,
Santa is coming,
Children are hyper

Together

Together we can achieve lots,
Alone we can achieve dirty pots,
If we work as a team we can make a house,
Alone we can scare a mouse,
Together we can achieve lots,
Alone we can achieve dirty pots,
Together we can make mince pies,
Alone we can kill flies.
Together we can achieve lots,
Alone we can achieve dirty pots,
