Sisters

Sisters are annoying
Sisters are painful
Sisters can be kind of helpful
Sisters are annoying but deep down we love them

Siblings, we love them really

River
Twisty, bendy
Swishey, wavey, splashey
Bluer than the blue paint I found
Flowing

Sky

by Sathphala aged 11

The sky, the sky
How beautiful the sky is.
The sun, the moon, the rain
You large and wide sky?
You show the sunset, sunrise
Birds show happiness with you.

Believing

0
by Harshita Das aged 11

When you said we’d be happy
I believed you
When you said you’d never leave me
I believed you

You told me we’d always be together
And now I’m staring at the edge of the ocean
As I see you leave
But I still believe you

You promised I would never be alone
For you would always be with me
Now as I watch you leave
I know you will come back

No matter what others say
I don’t care about them
You will always have my faith
And my trust

And I will wait here for you
Till you come back
And I know you will
Because I believe in you

Golden Rays

0
by Harshita Das aged 11

There she sat
In her room
Sobbing
Her face hidden
For it was contorted with misery
She radiated hopelessness
Her room was dark
Curtains drawn
Doors locked

Then a strong wind blows by
A stern voice, that tells her
To gather herself
And move on
The curtain drifts a tiny bit
A golden ray comes streaming in
Glittering merrily
It lights up the whole room
And she looks up
The Sun looks merry
The garden tempting
The sky brilliant blue
And she gets up
And thinks that
Maybe the worst has not happened
For that would be
When golden rays
Stopped passing by each day

Sleeping Giant

1
by Rik aged 12

While you are sleeping giant, your own bed is hidden,
She sits quietly, because it’s pretty cool,
Waiting momentarily to print your house!
He held his back down,
It has a big black eyes,
His gorgeous legs can cover his head,
He wonders why he likes it under the bed?
She loves cottage cheese and eggs,
She loves breaking more food,
When he wakes up, he is always twelve,
Throw out all the other meals,
This is usually an old bread or a mask cheese,
He easily closes the rotten objects
Finally, she goes back to her bed
So the giant sits on his head,
He reprinted the next night!

Just a Flutter

0
by Harshita Das aged 11

The day was dark
Nothing could we find
We forget what it was like
Not to feel pain
And sadness
Blinded by darkness
Stumbling to nowhere
The weight of a heavy heart
Slowing us down
Each breath, like breathing shattered glass

And yet,
Despite all this,
A small butterfly
Just a flutter of hope
Burning like fuel
Kept us going
For while everything else has abandoned us
Nobody can let go
Of that little flutter of hope

Valentine

2
by Zachary aged 10

I love you more than an eagle loves to fly,
I love you more than a liar loves to lie.
I love you more than a whale loves to eat,
I love you more than a tiger loves meat.
I love you more than a cat loves milk,
I love you more than an emperor loves silk.
I love you more than a bride loves her gown,
I love you more than a king loves his crown.
I love you more than a man loves wine,
Would you, could you be my Valentine?

Colours

by Tana Kea aged 9

As magenta as a spiky dragon fruit.
As purple as a shiny amethyst.
As red as human blood.
As blue as the salty ocean.
As green as clinging ivy.

Big Cats

by Charlottei aged 7

The lion pounces
The leopard plays
The fishing cat fishes
In that very strange way

The cheetah sprints
The tiger eats
The lynx’s heart
Beats and beats

The snow leopard looks
For a female friend to love
The cheetah moves
As swiftly as a dove
