by Inuli Herath aged 7

What is black? The night sky is black,
with twinkling stars at the back.
What is white? The snow is white,
with shining sunlight.

What is red? Cherries are red,
in their tree beds.
What is yellow? A banana is yellow,
when it mellow.

What is orange? An orange is orange,
it’s just an orange.
What is green? The grass is green,
like some little beans.

What is gold? Coins are gold,
with letters so bold.
What is brown? tree branches are brown,
both up and down.

I Love My Life

0
by Riddhi Kanwar aged 10

When I needed sunshine instead I got rain
You always used to guide me through my unwanted pain
Maybye I was true, maybe I was not
All I  want to tell you is that I love you a lot.

When He Broke My Heart

0
by Elsie aged 12

We stood there
He took my hands
The words he said
I didn’t plan
He opened his mouth to say a word
And what he said tore me up for good
He said he didn’t love me
I couldn’t believe it
I ran away crying and hid under a tree
My heart was torn up
That day I’ll never forget
When he broke my heart into tiny bits.

School Stay

0
by Stephanie Adaeze Chukwka aged 8

I know it’s kind of awkward,
but most people must hate school.

You go here,
but then you go there again!

But I must SAY
why can’ t I stay?

You eat chocolate
then you hesitate

Because then you say
“OH NO!”

I don’t get to stay?

No, no, no!

You eat crisps all day
and know you want to stay?

What has got intmostw?
So now you’re not going to stay

Love In All Shapes

by Samuel aged 10

Love is unique for everyone
You’ll find it in many shapes and sizes.
Love may be small or tall,
Fat or thin,
Abstract or not,
Creative and serious,
Funny and emotional,
Fearless or fearful.
For you, love may be simple,
But for me it’s everything.

Fun in Winter

by Samuel aged 10

Cold breezes reaching for your face,
The soft blanket layering on all surroundings
When you touch it, it’s like a mattress
The icicles forming a beautiful backround
The unique snowflakes landing on your nose.
You’ve never seen such light and airy snow in your village
The perfect snow for skiing on when your ready for it
You know you love it
Because it’s winter.

There was once a mannequin dancing
All down the catwalk it was prancing
Throwing all sorts of moves
It’s really in the groove
And everybody there was glancing

The Bear Who Ran on a Chair

0
by John Wahbi aged 7

That bear just ran on a chair
he just does not care
The silly old bear
found a pear lying on his hair
Maybe he sat on that pear
because he just does not care
What is going on here and there?
I wonder why that bear is there?

I Booked a Flight

0
by Mary Wahbi aged 7

I booked a flight
during the night
next morning was too light
I switched off the light and
had a fight with a knight
