A Type of Love No One Will Forget

by Samuel aged 11

Part Two

We danced on the Moon,
We played on Mars,
We slept on Jupiter,
We ate at Mercury,
We sang on Pluto,
We swam in Uranus,
We slept on Neptune,
But then the next morning it was time to go,
I got my Valentines,
then we packed the luggage,
And then we sealed the door.
We flew back to Earth in are little rocketship,
And then gave my parents a quick phone call,
I said we landed safely and we hope to see you soon.

I Wish

Sitting idly
sipping some coffee
& enjoying the beautiful scenery,
I suddenly thought of
you and the old days;
do you remember the days when we
walked together, hand in hand
promising each other that
this bond will never break,
promising each other that
we both will always be there for
each other;
do you remember the days when others
wished that they could have
a bond
like ours?

But now, everything’s changed;
we act like strangers,
walking past each other
locking sight
but with a locked mouth,
our inner soul
tells us not to even exchange a
‘Hello!’
though, deep inside us
we wish to speak to each other,
gossip,
share the latest news,
like we did a few years ago.

I wish,
that the old times could come back:
I wish I could cry on your shoulder,
I wish I could exchange secrets,
I wish we could gossip about people,
I wish this bridge is built all over
again.

I wish.

A Lady Like No Other

You are the concealed
hand
that helps us cross
the broken bridge;
You are the concealed chalk
that fills our black lives
full of white.
Your warm, cozy arms –
the palliative spot for a
wounded soul.
You are the sunlight blending
through the curtains
lighting up our lives.
You are the fresh lotus that
fills our flavourless lives
with essence.

To decipher you
is problematic;
how does your instinct
decipher us?

You are a blessing,
only a few are blessed with.
You are the life that leads me
through the dark tunnel
of life.

You are a lady: like no other.
You are my everything.
You are MOM!

The Snake and Jake

The snake
Is on the lake
Eating some cake

Then he has a tummy ache
Because of the cake
Then he meets Jake

Who is awake
Baking some
Cake

Looking at the sky
That is about to cry
Wanting to eat a pie

For the pie
He was to die
Or even lie

Dawn to Dusk

Dawn to Dusk
The scarlet Sun
Shining over the hills
Showing the first of its
Golden rays
The dark, pale night
Turns into a
Crimson red sky
Glowing beams
Spread across the city
As the sky turns blue
With a tint of yellow

The Sun
It goes higher and higher
Now a bright yellow ball
And the sky is shining yellow
As the weather becomes warmer
And the air around
Gains a warmer hue

As the hours pass
The weather is perfect
For when the Sun sinks lower
Its warmth feels cozy
Along with the cool breeze
Gently tickling the skin

Again, the sky turns crimson red
As the Sun sinks lower still
It disappears beneath the clouds
Shrouding the city
In darkness
Then tiny dots of light
Start appearing in the dead of the night
Stars twinkle brightly
And we know
We have lived
From dawn to dusk

My Friend Kite

by Madison Holmes aged 9

Up high in the sky,
I wave goodbye
almost out of sight,
my good friend kite.
