Am I Good Enough?

Concealer, foundation, blusher,
Am I good enough now?
Bs and A*s
Am I good enough now?
Rings, Designer Clothes, an expensive phone,
Am I good enough now?
Mansion, riches, diamonds,
Am I good enough now?
Blue contacts, a blonde wig,
Am I good enough now?
I changed for you.
ARE YOU GOOD ENOUGH?

Unicorns are Awesome

by Aiden Ashley aged 7

Unicorns, unicorns
Never! of course they’re real
Imagine how you would feel
Cause you have met the most amazing thing in the land
Oh, watch her tottle along, kicking the sand
Royal beauty you see
Nothing better than she
Something special about this one, her name is Rainbow and she loves you all !!!!

Plagiarism

I feel like writing a poem
But I don’t have any good ideas.
I’ll copy one of my friend’s poems
And submit it online as my own.
I know it’s called Plagiarism and
It’s unethical to copy someone
Else’s poem, but who’ll find out?
Nobody’s going to know I did so.
Except for my friend if he finds
Out and me obviously. So I go
online and go to the webpage
Where I had to submit the poem.
Then I realized that it’s a bad
Thing to plagiarise. So I do the
Next best thing. I gave the credit
To the person who wrote it,
And submitted it after adding
Some more lines to the poem.
I also quoted those copied lines
So that those who see it know
I’m innocent and only indulge
In ethical activities.

Playing in the Bath

1
by Adam Rafael Holmes aged 8

Father Christmas duck is having a rest.
At eating, Sharky is the best.
Snappity is drifting closely by
And the E45 lid is as blue as the sky.
The bubbles have now all gone flat.
Wet footprints can be seen trodden in the mat.

Little yellow Belfast Duck floats on his back
As tiny Adam Duck makes a bubbly “quack, quack, quack.”
Green Turtle breathes a sigh of relief
When the turquoise foot scrub blunts Purple Crab’s teeth.
His sodden pincers are grabbing at air
As he quickly descends down to his lair.
Pirate Boy sinks to the bottom of the sea.
But he bumps into silent Snappity.
“Help, help!” he gasps, but only bubbles rise up.
Snappity tries to eat them, and gets stuck in a cup.

Pirate Boy bobs and up comes his hat,
Then magical Yellow Fish turns into a bat.
He grabs the hat and up Pirate Boy rises,
A flannel on top gives him disguises.

Thermometer Duck bleeps “It’s gone too cold”
And I leap out of the bath, looking very bold.
Don’t let’s forget flat Orange Turtle,
Who is as funny as Harry Potter’s Moaning Myrtle.

Invent

by Harshita Das aged 11

I like to invent
Make things in my mind
Give life
To the things
That never existed
Create dreams
For people
Who will never be
I like to invent
But what I can’t invent
Is hope
For you
That you
Find the courage
And invent it
Yourself

Music

by Harshita Das aged 11

That melody
Soothing to the ear
Brings up pictures in my mind
Slow and melodious
Sometimes speedy and noisy
With people screaming
And banging
And rapping
I love music

My Team

by Harshita Das aged 11

We work together
Don’t need words
To communicate
We work efficiently
We know each other
Know what we are going to do
Know each other’s moves
We need each other
We lend each other our strength
We pick each other up
When we fall down
We are closer than friends
We are a team

Nightmares

by Harshita Das aged 11

I did not know
That it was possible
To get nightmares
When I am awake
Until you came along
You made me laugh
Made me reveal secrets
I dare not think about
Made me feel at home
I feel so content around you
But when I am not
I cringe
At the things I told you
And I vow
To never talk to you again
But your twinkling eyes
And your easy smile
Makes me falter
And I crack up
Laughing at all your jokes
And thoughts about you
Are dreams
As well as nightmares
