Revenge

2
by Harshita Das aged 12

There’s fire in my veins
And poison in my heart
I’ve got this reckless rage
To tear everything apart

My vision’s blurred with anger
Judgment clouded by rage
Drunken madness keeps me going
How did I get to this stage

The grief stings like lava
My aura reeks of pain
Revenge boils in my blood
Visions of bodies, red stains

Black Letter Day

0
by Jasgun Singh Tuli aged 12

The master of two birds had a crew,
and he did not realize when the birds flew.

The birds were flying in the sky
and the man was crying with no eye.

The man went for a short nap,
and after some time he gave himself a slap.

The birds were peeping from the building,
when suddenly they heard the door creaking

The birds flew like a rocket
and the man got a shock with the electric socket

Horrific Halloween

by Liam S aged 10

Spooky Scary Skeletons
will start Crawling out Graves
as Werewolves Start Howling
Under a Bright Full Moon
and Vampires will come out their Coffins
with a Glass Bottle of Blood
Mummies From Egypt will come
to bring a Fright from the Train of Fear
then they all Cornered me and said Surprise!
It was all of my Friends
and that’s how it ENDS!

Lost In War

1
by Ishaan Singh Sarna

i knew this day would come,
the day i would lose faith in humanity,
when the world would be shadowed
by the shrill cries of my children
and others like them,
when a line, a mere line would be drawn
along my children and i.

as i walk through the shady camps
with children chatting
curled up in foil sheets, as blankets;
i think of this world
and it’s dilapidated humanity,
with the influx of bloodshed
and separation coming everyday;
and the mothers who lose their
children to this harsh world of bloodshed
and lost humanity.

i see a child,
his eyes a world, a world of shattered dreams
and memories of his family;
his eyes a barren landscape
which should be sown with love,
with the remnants of his lost childhood,
and the tender love of a mother.

still wandering, but lost:
i feel something caressing my scrawny skin,
i feel the scrawniness go away,
and the void being filled by the gentleness
of something soft,
a magnolia –
a blooming magnolia,
with its petals filled with the hues of
hope, of love and of assurance.
the pink, waxy petals
penetrating deep into my heart,
and the void being filled
with a short moment of ecstasy;

and i hear another gunshot,
the shrill cries and scornful pleadings
accompanying them.

Angry Me

0
by Eleanor Collins aged 8

I’m angry
And I don’t like when people are mean

I like writing
And I’m very keen.

My sister does lots of fighting
I’m not that person.

My dad wanted a boy
Then he got a son

I have a toy
Called miall

I wanted a shop near by
But all I got was a mall

My house is cool
But it’s also small

We have a pool
And that’s me

Dogs

I am a dog and I like to roam
But my name no one knows
I love fluff
I like to wear fluff
I like squeaky toys and other toys
But any toy will do

Silver Tongue Dagger

0
by Harshita Das aged 12

I have a sword and a gun
I have knives and bows
I have spears and axes
I’m faster and stronger
More aggressive and wild
I can predict your every move
I can practically fly across the battlefield

But you have daggers made of words
The most powerful metal in the land
If forged correctly
They rip through my armor like it’s melted chocolate
And pierce right into my heart

No matter the advantage I have
Your silver tongue will always win against me

Our Spring

1
by Harshita Das aged 12

Those who are successful are like springs
When they lose, they are wound back
Little by little
Until they are completely rewound
And then like Jack-in-the-Box,
They spring right back up again
Even when they are pulled down
They don’t give up
Until their spring is rusty
And the bullies aren’t capable of pulling them back

The Bunny of Honey

0
by Azmeer aged 9

Once upon a time
there was a bunny
with twelve dimes
who loved honey

The honey loving bunny
loved termites too
even the crunchy ones
that make holes in your shoes

But one day
Bunny Liquorice went Boo!
The insulted honey bunny
had no idea what to do

He went to the emperor
to get some advice
he said to make some mice
and stuff them with rice
and from that day on
Bunny Liquorice was nice
