Birds

Each bird,
A different call,
Some can be loud,
Some are small,
The rooster crows,
The owl hoots,
The pigeon coos,
The dove too,
The robin chirps,
The crow squarks,
The duck quacks,
And the swallow talks.

Woods

Walking in the woods,
The trees are dancing around,
The wind is whirling,
Blowing leaves to the ground.
Each step I take I hear the leaves,
The crunch that they make beneath my feet.
I see birds that fly over my head,
I see rabbits that hop here and there.
I stand in the middle of the woods,
Listening,
Listening to nature’s sound,
Sound of peace.

Marks of Pain

The soles of shoes
stabbed the white
sand – as many grains
of them as the population
of China. The soles

made their mark on the
white sand.
The land on the earth
is lucky. Any mark
of injury on it,

and the wind takes it
away. But not here.
These marks of
injury – these shall
remain forever

’cause the wind said,
‘Oh! You grains are
arrogant. Never ever
again am I going to
heal you guys again.

I’ll continue to heal
your friends on
Earth, though.
At least, they’re humble.
At least. they’re humble.’

They like to chill

But what the don’t like

Is to be wet from the pool.

Teenage Tantrum

My mum told me to get off my phones,
She said I needed to get out and stretch my bones.
‘What do you mean mum, I’ve only just gone on it?!’
First of all the candle needs to be lit!

I started to sigh and turned on my back,
I wish I could give her a big, loud whack!
I jumped up and started to scream and shout,
So she just looked at me and I knew I should have doubts.

“Get off your phone, lazy bum!”
No please, please, please can I have it back mum?
My mum took the phone out of my hands,
And threw it on the floor, I hope it lands!

Terrifying Tummy

I woke up one morning with a stomach ache,
All I said was for goodness sake.
Last nights chilli is starting to kick in,
I didn’t think it was spicy! It came in a tin.

My belly started to rumble and tumble all around
Like a volcano erupting I even heard the sound!
I didn’t know what to do so I started to run.
I felt I really needed a nicely baked bun!

I had wanted a loan but my mom said no
There’s bills and dad said How do you
think we keep uncle Dill alive?
My mom got me an ipad but instead
of an electronic she got an eye pad

First cut the wood

then Chisel the wood

after you finish chiseling

draw the wood

when you’ve finished drawing

put the roof on

India

by Mohammed Ismaeel aged 11

India is a country,
They sometimes eat chutney,
They eat it with food,
May have their seafood barbecued

India has many celebrations,
People give money to foundations,
There is loads of traffic
It can be very graphic

They wear new clothes,
They can if it snows,
It is very popular
Some places in India are a blockbuster

Some families are wealthy,
Some families are poor,
It doesn’t matter who they are,
And they wake up to the morning star

Thank you for listening to my India poem.
I hope you enjoyed it.
