Gumbie Cat

by Leah Marshall aged 9

I have a Gumbie cat in mind her name is Jennyanydots,
she is lovely gorgeous and very kind and has many ginger fury spots
She is very lazy and lays on my mat
she sits and sits and sits and sits and that’s what makes her a Gumbie cat.
In the night she twitches her whiskers
as she can hear my mysterious whispers
When she is not in her bed it’s very rare
she creeps right down the steep stair
and in the morning we grow her some peas
and then she has it with some lovely cheese
That’s what makes a Gumbie cat

At the Beach

by Sofia-rose Chapman aged 7

At the beach I play in the wavy blue sea
looking forward to tea.
When I look up in the sky I see a stripy bee.
When I walk back to my tent I see
my mum is making a sandcastle without me.
After a few minutes its finally time for tea.

At the Zoo

by Paige Lovegrove aged 7

I saw at the zoo…
A giraffe reaching to the sky
Lemurs jumping from tree to tree
A rhino standing still
Sloths sleeping
A talking parrot
Roaring tigers and lions
Hiding meerkats
Swimming penguins
Howling wolves
Climbing pandas

Ever So Bright

by Clinton aged 11

With the depths of my knees
They bring me so ever down
With the winds of the trees
The crisis carried on my crown

Looming, are the sound of the ever so slight rocks
Tumbling down the crystal sea stocks

Ever anything there is one thing that matters most to me
Ever so bright is the world I see

Making a Pizza

2
by Harshita Das aged 12

How do you make pizza
Which is healthy as well as delicious?
Well, to do that you need to:
Instead of dough, use organic bread
Take a large slice and shape it into a circle
That will be your substitute dough
Instead of cheese, which will make you fat
Use milk
Which contains proteins as well as other vitamins
Drench the bread with it
Then for toppings add
Tons of olives, for they are rich in vitamin E
Green vegetables such as lettuce and peas
Carrot slices, fresh and washed
Don’t heat it in an oven
For it will drain the veggies of their vitamins
And voila!
You are now an officially
Healthy Master Chef

The Fallen Down Tree

0
by Elsie aged 12

I sit on a fallen down tree
Placed across the river,
I see little golden fish swimming away,
The river is shimmering in the sun,
It’s greeny colour showing,
The trees that surround me are dancing,
With their shiny leaves rustling,
A gathering of birds fly around me,
I see their soft coloured wings as they fly,
A few butterflies follow after,
They’re beautiful, stunning and pretty,
It starts to get dark so I head back home,
With the memory of this place I have seen,
The beautiful river,
The dancing trees,
The little golden fish,
The gathering of birds that fly around me.

I Love Him

by Elsie aged 12

His eyes are dreamy,
Dreamy Blue,
He is always cheerful and happy,
He is kind, caring and positive,
He loves puppies,
His voice sounds smooth and calming,
He always makes me smile when I am glum,
Sticking up for me,
I love him

Volcanos

by Darcy Boyd aged 7

There once was a volcano called Spot
on a map he was a little dot
I’m feeling hungry, Spot grumbled
as his tummy rumbled
and I’m getting a little bit hot!
