Old Farmer Nuggets

0
by Ewan F aged 9

Once there was a farmer,
He liked eating nuggets,
He didn’t like cheese,
But strangely he ate buckets.

Old farmer nuggets,
He always sat on benches,
He didn’t sit on chairs,
But he also sat in trenches.

Mrs Fen, from number ten,
Invited over 500 men,
One of which was Mr Ben,
And also some mad men.

Sadly for Mrs Fen,
Breaking plates was Mr Ben,
So she called Kicking Ken,
And he kicked away Mr Ben and the Mad men…

But he accidentally kicked away Mrs Fen

Change

by Charlie aged 9

When I move school,

I’ll be all alone,
With no friends to talk to.
Change can make you feel sad,
like there are butterflies,
flying around in your stomach
You can feel like you want to cry,
It can make you feel embarrassed.

But maybe…

When I move school,

I’ll be really popular,
With loads of friends to talk to.
Change can make you feel happy,
like you’re loved,
and everyone cares.
It can make you want to shout with glee!
It can make you feel special!
That’s what change is.

Space Dream

by Thomas Clelland aged 8

I want to learn absolutely everything,
are there aliens,
are there monsters?
I want to learn about all the creatures in the night sky,
I want to see the angel night.
Can I, Can I please?

I’ve read every book about space,
I want to see the stars more and more,
I want to see anything in space,
Can I, can I, ppleeaasse!!!!!!!???

Really?

Expectations

0
by Harshita Das aged 12

Sometimes, it’s better not to give them your best
I walked the treadmill of challenges
I pushed myself to the limit, running and sweating
Just running and running, one goal in site
Never thought of the consequences
And now I worry
For with sore muscles and exhaustion
I desire rest
But they expect me to get up again
And do better than last time
To make something equal to or better than my best
And I realize
The further I go
The more expectations there will be

Alarm Clock

2
by Harshita Das aged 12

Alarm clocks are annoying
They ring and hum and make shrill screaming noises
They wake you from rest
Make you want to curse them
And you never give them a second glance
For not making you late for work or school
In a way, they are exactly like mothers
The easily ignored cement at the bottom of a wall
That everyone seems to ignore

Circle

by Harshita Das aged 12

Our life is a loop
A circle; with the same dull routines
A closed shape
Going round and round forever

All the famous celebrities we dream of
They have done something
Which broke that circle

Exciting fun
Running, jumping, hitting
Happy, tiring, puffed-out
