Dogs

by Charlie aged 12

I am a dog and I like to roam
But my name no one knows
I love fluff
I like to wear fluff
I like squeaky toys and other toys
But any toy will do

Silver Tongue Dagger

0
by Harshita Das aged 12

I have a sword and a gun
I have knives and bows
I have spears and axes
I’m faster and stronger
More aggressive and wild
I can predict your every move
I can practically fly across the battlefield

But you have daggers made of words
The most powerful metal in the land
If forged correctly
They rip through my armor like it’s melted chocolate
And pierce right into my heart

No matter the advantage I have
Your silver tongue will always win against me

Our Spring

1
by Harshita Das aged 12

Those who are successful are like springs
When they lose, they are wound back
Little by little
Until they are completely rewound
And then like Jack-in-the-Box,
They spring right back up again
Even when they are pulled down
They don’t give up
Until their spring is rusty
And the bullies aren’t capable of pulling them back

The Bunny of Honey

0
by Azmeer aged 9

Once upon a time
there was a bunny
with twelve dimes
who loved honey

The honey loving bunny
loved termites too
even the crunchy ones
that make holes in your shoes

But one day
Bunny Liquorice went Boo!
The insulted honey bunny
had no idea what to do

He went to the emperor
to get some advice
he said to make some mice
and stuff them with rice
and from that day on
Bunny Liquorice was nice

Brother

by Alizah aged 11

Brother, I wonder why
you always used to lie
Brother, I wonder why
You used to cry
Was it because of our scary aunt?
For when you became older you liked to rant
Brother, I wonder why

When you laugh
that I look like a giraffe
I feel sad
but when I tell mum that you’ve been bad
you look mad

But there can also be good sides of a brother
except the fact that we fight one and other
the fact that no one can win at cricket
because our dad always scores a wicket

Hairy Monster

by Isla Causon aged 7

There was a monster under my bed
and he was a bit red.

He looked like a scary fairy.

He said, “My name is Fred.”
He started to eat some bread.

Please, oh please don’t eat me, monster Fred.

There was a monster under my bed and he was a bit red.
I told him he was bold and also gold.
He was a bit shiny and also a bit whiny.

Please, oh please don’t eat me, monster Fred.

Lost Island

0
by Azmeer aged 9

Across the Pacific
along the stream
there was an island
that was full of dreams

Lost Island it was called
as it was as lost as lost can be
Lost Island it was called
it was lost in the sea

Down in the amazon
down into the sea
lying on the sea bed
was the corpse of me

A soul of savage
hurt and past
I felt it coming
my life went fast

Searching the island was a big mistake
and there was a quirk of fate
this made my heart quake
my life decided to take a long break

Heat beat
heart beat
there was no sign of a heart beat
Ever will I walk on the street?
heart beat
heart beat

Monster

by Matilda Philpott aged 7

I heard a sound under my bed,
It was a monster with a red head.

He is soft and fluffy as a cloud,
He is really, really loud.

His nose is so rough,
He is extremely tough.

He is very brave,
He lives in a very dark cave.

Monster

by Amber Xifaras aged 7

I heard some growling under my bed,
So I cuddled up with my ted.

But where, oh where is my teddy?
The growling was very scary.

His teeth are as sharp as a knife,
Please, oh please don’t eat me.

I heard some growling under my bed,
So I cuddled up with my ted.

Why Dogs Woof

0
by Elsie aged 12

Once there was a pack of dogs roaming through the woods,
They had a home hidden under a big and bushy bush,
One day there was a rustle,
A roar,
And outside of the bush was a dinosaur!
They growled,
They howled,
But the enormous beast,
He wouldn’t budge until he’d ate his feast,
Suddenly there was an ‘oof’,
And then a big loud…
‘WOOF!’
And the dinosaur ran back home.

(not true) lol
