My eyes are precious
More valuable than the shiniest diamonds
They allow me
To see the beauty of the world
To see both bright and dull colors
They enable my sight
Allowing me to view the world
From my own perspective
And although I am gratified
I often take them from granted
And sometimes
I wonder
If I could view this world
From another perspective
Divergent to mine
I blindfold myself
And my senses grow alert
My ears, quivering for the slightest sound
Arms flailing around
Cautiously, I lift my foot
And slowly put it down
Every second,
Expecting to hit a wall
And I know
That I am very lucky
