I Like

Some days I like dancing
Some days I like singing
Some days acting
But do you know what I like every day?
Chocolate cake

Hide and Seek

2
by Harshita Das aged 12

I hide behind a happy smile
I wear a mask of indifference
I laugh out all the hate I get
I make jokes at my expense

I hid behind a happy smile
Until you came to seek me out
You swam up to the river I was drowning in
You were the only one who heard me shout

You searched for me
And I am finally not alone
Playing hide and seek
All on my own

Why?

Hi Jeffy, just so you know. We don’t print poems with poo, farts, pee, bottoms or similar rude words in.
So why not send us another rap poem without those words in?

I Gazed Into the Mirror

0
by Elsie aged 12

I was standing in front
of the so called ‘mysterious mirror’
staring at myself.
When i could see myself no more,
I faded into a magical,
mysterious mist,
surrounding my faded feet on the floor.
The magic of the purple smoke lured me in so far,
it led me down the mysterious mirrors path,
my curiosity wouldn’t stop.
I was led through a forest,
with trees twisted and tall.
I was led past an upside-down-world waterfall,
when the mist faded
I was barricaded
by some spooky creatures.
I had nowhere to go,
I was filled with sorrow.
If I hadn’t gazed at myself for so long,
I might not have ended up in this mess.
If I hadn’t followed the mysterious mist,
I might not have been barricaded in.
I gazed into the mirror.

Marvel of Life

by Aditi Vishwanath

The marvel of nature’s balance,
between the pitter-patter of rain
and the beaming rays of sun,
teach us important lessons of life.

The grave error a man makes
is a slight imbalance in his life,
which makes his views erroneous
about this beautiful boon, life.

The balance must be smooth,
between life’s important factors,
work, hardships and relationship
and a control on care, rage and strife.

A tinge of balance in one’s life
can ignite the impulse hidden in,
to achieve worth a thousand goals
with just a little effort and interest.

On My Bicycle

0
by Elsie aged 12

Crashing into trees,
On my head fall leaves,
Soggy like seaweed,
In the wet weather,
I see a bit of Heather,
I prick my finger,
There is no time to linger,
Blood dripping down my hand,
Which I never planned,
I never planned this when I found a rubber band,
The rubber band which got caught,
In my bicycle wheel,
Made of steel was my wheel,
I flew straight down the steep slope,
On my bicycle.

A Place to Go

0
by Hidayah

Sometimes when you feel alone
and need a place to go
you think of your home
But where is your home?
Where’s the place you need to go sometimes?
I think about the people who have no home or place to go
so I feel hurt and alone

International Forever

by Yigit

I just want to plant the tree today,
Crying, laughing, amazing, shouting,
Not like the others,
I am not a nationalist!

On the other planets,
There would be no hearing,
My voice struggled at the galaxy,
But no one heard me.

Very long shoes,
With a short hoe,
Digging the world to bring peace,
Sadly, no one listened to me again.

What else could I do for this world?
To stop over nationalism,
I am not done yet.
We won’t let it happen again.

~~POEM TO STOP OVER NATIONALISM~~

The Library

Shhhhhh… don’t make a noise,
This is a library,
Not a playground.
What shall I read?
How about The Gruffalo by Julia Donaldson
Or Burger Boy by Alan Durant?
Hmm… so many books to choose from…
I know, maybe I could use the library’s computer.
TYPE TYPE TYPE!
SHHHHHHHHHHH…
OK, OK!
