I saw a spider in the sink
Awww, it’s not bright pink
I got scared, I don’t know why
I told my mum she came up
And my little sister said hi
She saw it and ran
She ran like the gingerbread man
Poems
The Star Among Stars
He stood there between the stars.
He is pretty cunning, as he takes
credit for the poor sun’s effort.
He may not be a star. But in
The stars twinkling in the sky,
The moon sure is the star – the star
Among all the stars twinkling
In the dark, night sky.
Heart Full of Pain
we started with a friendship
now i’m feeling more
you captured me with your eyes
and a smile i really adore
i wake up in the mornings
eager to see you
even though you
don’t know the way
i feel for you
you make me blush
for when i’m scared
to confront you vulnerable
to what you’ll say
when i’m ready to tell you
butterflies in my stomach
when i told you
my feelings are now
more than friendship we endure
i was not expecting the
answer you gave
for it broke my heart
in so many ways
never felt so alone
never felt so afraid
i didn’t know
you just wanted
a friendship
and to keep
it that way
now i feel empty
with a heart full of pain
because the only one
who can cheer me up
is the one who brought
this pain.
Falling
The first time we climb, we expect to reach up high
We hope to discover and reach great heights
We are urged to touch the skies
And the first time we fall, we are hurt the most
We climb again when we touch the ground
But slowly lose hope as we do so
Until there is none to be found
Then is when we start to give up
Each time we climb, we expect to fall
The pain dulls with time
Until we can no longer stand and only crawl
Is when we start to question climbing again
But as I lie down in defeat
I wonder, what if there was no ground?
What if once we fell, we fell forever?
Just falling
And regretting our mistake forever
The ground is a haven
It gives us a way to climb again
To stop falling
World War 3
The battleground is bloody and bland
It slowly rages with force
The field is full of corpses and sand
No backup for us, no chivalrous horse
On our own, we will fight
Although we know, few will survive
Some have lost their will, some their sight
Yet we do our best to keep each other alive
The war will leave many scars
Only the strongest will be left on the field
Our instructors will watch from afar
With pencil for our sword and eraser as our shield
I wonder, if I will be spared
From our exam, for which I appeared
Heart Attack
I smile, you look into my eyes
Blood, red blood is all you see
I will spread justice for the world
Before madness can swallow me
You desperately desire my diary, my notebook
You want to expose the world to the killer, my secrets
But before that, I assure you, I will kill you
You will fall for me, you will die of a heart attack
You see through my face, my charming smile
You find us exchanging numbers and names
It’s not my fault, it’s not a mistake
I’ll find a way to pass off the blame
You reek of sins, you’ve done bad things
My partner’s eyes see beyond you
I will be the god of the new world
I will do the job only few can do
I will kill you with a heart attack
Song of Love?
I’m stuck in the love maze
My feelings a seesaw
I say I’m fine
But I need you
To save me
But it’s not today
I look at the dead leaves
As you got the best of me
The house of cards
House my singularity
My serendipity
I’m young forever
The stigma of you
Makes me a fool
But it doesn’t matter
As you are the cause of my euphoria
Family
Ah, family, don’t they make you sigh?
Whimper, shout or even cry?
Do they frustrate you to the brim?
Hog the TV? Not let you in?
Did your sister gossip to her friend,
that your broken toe was on the mend?
Did mum make Shepherd’s Pie that night?
Or did she tell you off and have a fight?
Did Uncle Joe steal your box?
Your box full of horrifying shocks?
Did dad really work at nine?
Or was he paying for a parking fine?
Did your brother really eat
chicken-legs fat frog’s feet?
My family is a weird lot,
But I love them anyway, do you not?
The World
The World is a curious thing,
who knows what it can bring?
Strong winds and stormy seas,
butterflies and bumblebees,
Flowers and petals sweet,
cool tunes and a catchy beat,
Blue, lilac and grey,
I’d choose those colours any day!
Fine kings and fancy queens,
Red tomatoes and runner beans,
Comfy socks and pyjamas bright
New friendships and one silly fight!
Scary spiders, slugs and snails,
Eagles, parrots and even quails!
Well, the world can bring some peculiar things,
But I love the wonders it can bring.
