Bird Flew Bright in the Sky

0
by Gray Valk aged 6

I saw a bird in the sky finding some food high above.
It was so high, bright in the sky.
Then the bird flew away to somewhere else
in the bright blue sky.
Then it went to the beach
and I saw it again and again and again
Finally the bird flew away
and she went to her cuddly bed
which was tight and brown

Peace

by Sophie-Jaya aged 9

Peace is calmness
Peace is promise
Peace is softness

Peace is pleasant
It is like a present
Peace is much more than a pheasant

Use it nicely
Use it politely
Use it precisely

My Pumpkin Adventure

0
by Isla Ainsworth aged 7

Fields of pumpkins is all we can see,
For more than a mile.

Orange, red, yellow and tan,
Even longer than the humongous river Nile.

Further into the farmyard we go,
That’s where the pumpkins grow.

I saw seeds on the pumpkin-covered grass,
Those were the seeds farmers sow.

After, we chose a pumpkin each,
Of all shapes and sizes.

That’s the end of My Pumpkin Adventure
As we went to the Cafe to claim our prizes.

Wars

by Charlottei aged 7

Swords and maces spiky as a comb
I close my eyes and think of home

Planes and guns in my head
Dreaming of home in my bed

Swords and maces spiky as a comb
I close my eyes and think of home

Bombs and soldiers in my heart
Blood, tears and sweat throws me apart

Swords and maces spiky as a comb
I close my eyes and think of home

Poppies on the battlefield
Covered in cows, now the cattlefield.

Swords and maces spiky as a comb
I close my eyes and think of home

Nothing Much for Minors

5
by Sahaj Sabharwal

Minors are those less than eighteen,
As they don’t have knowledge in keen.

They don’t have a driving licence,
As don’t have driving sense.

Minors are given just pen and page,
Their life is not more than a cage.

Holiday is not given even on Sundays,
As their age is negligible for fundays.

Parents are worried not to get the blame,
From minors they just want their fame.

Circumstances are same for every minor,
Parents are just their life designer.

Water

Water is my favourite drink,
At times the best thing to quench a thirst.
That comes too suddenly,
Even though it is abundantly available.
Refined, pure specimens sold in shops.
