Telescope

Looking through my telescope
I see pirates sailing the seven seas
Captain Blackbeard shouts out, ”Ahoy there!”

Looking through my telescope
I see a bright, beautiful meadow
flowers dazing me
the sun blazing me

Looking through my telescope
I see a sea
the water lapping on the golden yellow
sand
That is the life for me

Sweets

by Connie and Imogen aged 9 and 8

There was once a girl, she was going to the folly
but her mum said “Do you want a lolly?”
No thank you, they hurt my teeth
i`m not taking them because I`m not a thief
So she went to the folly
and met up with her friend Molly
They walked to the shop to get some pop
There they met Kye
and the time passed by
so then they went home

Walking Talking Winter

1
by Akifah Abdin aged 10

Winter walks towards England
Bellowing, he cries,”I’m here, bring Santa,
an old friend of mine. Where is my tinsel and roast
turkey?”
This year is looking a little murky!
So winter walks and talks so much that
his spit becomes the snow.
His walking becomes large gusts
of wind.
Couples huddle together and
Winter is turning into a jigsaw!
Some pieces do, some don’t
but that is the very heart of Winter.

Christmas time is here
It’s time to cheer
Holidays full of delight
Christmas lights be bright.

A Christmas Wish

0
by Tazkia Dokrat aged 10

She sat there
By the window,
Snowflakes falling
Ground full of white stuff,
She never got to play in it
The orphanage didn’t allow it.
After all
She couldn’t disobey the rules,
She was an orphan
Like the other 49,
She watched through the window
On a lonely Christmas Eve,
Parents and kids outside
Shopping for presents.
That night
She made her wish,
As she went to bed
She hoped and prayed,
Then
Christmas Day came.
Her wish
Had come true,
For next Christmas Eve
She wasn’t alone,
She had a new family
One to play in the snow with,
One to buy presents for,
One to love forever.

Christmas Eve

by Elsie aged 12

On Christmas Eve every year,
Santa and his elves make presents to deliver,
On every evening on Xmas eve,
Santa jumps down the chimneys,
He creeps into your room and fills up,
Fills up your stocking-up to the top,
Then he slips back round to your living room,
And surrounds the tree with cards and gifts,
He finds the mince pies and glass of milk,
And the carrot for Rudolf and the reindeer,
After that off he goes,
Out into the darkness,
Has anyone seen his workshop,
Nobody knows…

Snow

by Elsie aged 12

White as infinity’s page,
Pages of a non-written future,
As crisp as a bauble’s shell,
Being trodden on by a foot,
Cold as the outside breeze on a winter’s day,
Freezing our noses red,
As delicate as a snowflake,
With its intricate design,
Powdery as white chalk,
Being crushed into dust,
Snow – as wintry as winter itself.

Santa’s Workshop

by Tilly aged 7

The elves make toys for the children asleep
As they snore and count sheep.
Santa and his elves are out in the snow,
Getting ready to go.
Every night they deliver toys
To all the girls and boys.
Eating mince pies, what a pleasant surprise,
Santa be quick,
Because the children are slick,
And are waking up fast!
On his sleigh he gets
And off he goes,
With Rudolf’s nose
Guiding him back home.

My Magical Boat

by Elsie aged 12

The noisy birds fly over-head,
As I sail above the ocean’s bed,
The coral reef holds colourful fish,
I close my eyes to make a wish,
Colours are spread beneath my boat,
I watch them shimmer as I float.

The White Blankets

by Elsie aged 12

As I step on the layers of crisp,
The layers of white blanket sit,
As I step on the layers of silk,
The layers that look as if I’ve spilt milk,
As I step on the layers of white,
The layers of a beautiful sight,
As I step on the layers of slush,
The layers of much memories-much,
As I step on the layers,
The layers…
