She sat in bed thinking,
it was all she could ever do
THINK.
She knew it was Christmas.
She couldn’t speak, eat normally and was deaf
”Don’t worry Isabella.” said her mum
who was the merriest person she knew.
The next day she ate an apple,
SHE COULD EAT
She heard carols being sung
SHE COULD HEAR
She could say her breakfast order when her mum took her out to eat
SHE COULD SPEAK
”A Christmas miracle,” she said, laughing
Poems
Christmas is Coming!
It’s cold in the house
with frost on the doors
but warm on the floors
It’s Christmas Eve
So Santa can’t leave
We need some sleep so
Don’t peep.
The Christmas Eve
On the Christmas Eve,
The land of Greenstotle Kingdom was bleak
Humanity pillars stood hard as iron
And there was complete mourning.
Miles away, in the city of Arcansia,
There was snow and frost.
In the dreams of Queendom,
Reindeers flew over the kingdom,
The jingling bells and Latrin birds reminded of Cripes,
And welcomed the lord God almighty- Jesus Christ.
In the heaven,
The angles watched all
And their blessings fell
And yes!
It is a happy place now for the good ones.
For those who stood as iron,
Were given a bliss,
While the others were winnowed by the winds.
On the Christmas Eve,
The earth washed all the evils and devils
And retained the ones who were virtuous.
To the Earth and the land,
It was a lesson by the almighty God
Our lord- Jesus Christ.
Festive Cheer
The Christmas pudding sits on the table
which is decorated with festive cheer.
The Christmas pud looks good!
A little cherry sits upon the cake,
icing smothered upon it,
lots of candles are dotted around.
The Christmas pudding shines.
Christmas is Coming!
Christmas is coming
soon as can be
while I hang my stocking
on the Christmas tree.
There`s laughter with fun,
joy with love
and it’s so much fun (really)
so don`t forget that
Christmas is coming.
I Remember
Stumbling across sludge,
each step took all my energy,
each pained breath could be my last.
I had to keep fighting, Tommy was worse.
I was deaf to the sounds of the shells and screams,
blind to the sight of the wounds and blood.
Tommy and I were the last two pals left,
edging forward and back
in an endless tug of war against our enemy,
both sides tugging on an iron rope.
Tommy’s breathing became shallower,
even he, the cheery one he used to be before,
was losing his own battle.
Wheezing and rattling, shaking with every step,
Tommy still ploughed on, my brave pal.
He looked ahead and grimaced, something was wrong.
He grunted with pain as he pushed me into a shell crater,
knocking the breath out of me.
The ground trembled, or maybe I did,
as the chattering of a machine gun filled my ears,
echoing in my brain.
After what felt like an hour, the chattering stopped,
the all too familiar sound of a fallen man
hitting the ground could be heard through the chaos.
Ears ringing, I emerged from the crater.
I see Tommy, lying still, a metre away.
I dragged my winded body over to him and closed his eyes,
he finally looked at peace.
Light starts to form in my eyes
and I fall into calm.
I’m safe now,
and I remember all of those Tommies still.
Merry Christmas
Christmas is coming with laughter and joy
I can’t wait to get my dream toy
There is a little girl hanging her stocking up,
she needs to get some sleep in her bed
She’s so excited she`s going red.
Christmas is Coming
Christmas is coming, there’ll be laughter, there’ll be joy.
Christmas is coming with an excited little boy.
He’s hanging up his stocking, getting stroked on the head
and then going to sleep in his nice cosy bed.
When he wakes up in the morning
he’ll be happy as can be
for when he wakes up in the morning
there’ll be presents for you and me!
