My Festive Christmas Poem

by Zach aged 9

The rhyme of time is one hour till Santa is here,
The time for Santa is finally here, At last we all cheer!
Is he a Wookie
Or does he just want a cookie?

What is that sound on top of the house
Maybe it’s just a big mouse?
Outside it’s as chilly as me having a cold mouse in my pants
Inside it’s as hot as super hot ants

And what’s that?
It’s Santa leaving us a flapjack after he’s eaten the creamy mince pies
He slurps the milk and he takes the carrot cake for telling lies
He gives it to the one and only Rudolf-the-red-nose-reindeer
He dived and slid putting presents neatly underneath whilst shedding a tear

Eric the cat is Christmas day cool for one and all!
When he heard Santa sliding and diving he danced
And pranced to the door of the Christmas day hall
Eating his treats, sent him into a trance

After all he is just St Nick
He must be up to a trick
Cos how he did deliver to all the children in the world
Nobody knows except they heard Santa singing Merry Christmas to all,
as he left in his great big sleigh!

Spying on Santa

0
by Alex Rosello aged 9

On Christmas Eve
I want to believe
I could catch Santa
drinking Fanta.
I set up a camera
doing the Samba
On Christmas
We heard a bang
And my bell rang
My mom sang
on Christmas
I saw Santa
Drinking Fanta
Like he was a thirsty hippo
Then Santa left…
Bye Santa!!
Wait… there’re no presents…
Just an empty bottle of Fanta

One Christmas Eve

by Blossom Coates-Maclean aged 9

One Christmas eve
I didn’t believe.
I was on my bed,
Things flying through my head,
When I said,
I needed to be fed.
I got out of bed and my legs were dead.
I got down the stairs and I found some hairs.
They looked like they were from bears.
But they were Santa’s hairs.
I tore the door down.
I found the footprint of Santa
I turned around and I found some reindeer with a sleigh.
I jumped in and found a Fanta.
Santa jumped in the sleigh with a hooray and flew away.
and that was the end of Santa and I.

To Exciting Christmas Tree

Dear Christmas tree
You bring exciting needs

Throughout the month
You must need warmth

You can dress up
But you don’t mess up

It would never be
The same with out you

Christmas is When

Icicles freeze
Reindeer sneeze

Turkey burns
Santa earns

Tree grows
Elf knows

Brussels sprouts boils
Children spoil

Elf makes
Cabbage bakes.

Santa

He is very plump

He comes down the old chimneys

Then eats loads of treats

Attack

1
by Fraser Reed aged 12

The sand, it was warm.
Heated by the Iraqi sun.
It cushioned me, like a King’s throne.
I leaned back against the cold bricks.
It was cooling like the occasional breeze.

Suddenly, the air felt thick!
Waiting. Watching. Aggressive.

Bang! Screams resonated throughout our town.
The light sliced through the window like a knife.
Sharp, sharp was the only word to describe that sound.
“Mummy?” I called, my face soaked with tears.
I saw through the window, men in black, covering their faces, guns in their hands.
I was struck with fear. Pure fear.
Again, Bang!
I rapidly dropped to my knees.
Then darkness.

I felt sick, heavy with suspense.
The doorway was charred and chipped.
I edged outside, my doll clutched in my grimy hand.
A puddle of tears by my feet,
just like the blood that stained the sand.
In the distance, a cloud of dust trailed behind an armoured vehicle.
The sand was now cold.

Elves make
Children bake
Reindeer wait
Santa’s late
People gleam
Turkeys scream

The Pretty Flower

One pretty flower as pink as can be
One pretty flower as tall as me
One pretty flower sways as the sun
One pretty flower as beautiful as can be
One pretty flower stood in front of me

Christmas Time

0
by Charlie Green aged 9

Christmas is coming, the snow is falling,
Santa’s sleigh is ready and the elves are calling,
Have you been good? as he’s been spying,
He knows if you haven’t, so there’s no point in lying!

I wrap my presents and put them under the tree,
and all of a sudden, from the corner of my eye I see,
A glistening cloud of dust, so magical and bright,
I’m now so excited, there’s no way I’ll sleep tonight!
