Everywhere we go we see faces
And everyone is from different races
We should learn to respect them
As all of us are a gem
Everyone shines in their own way
No matter what they say
Begin treating better
You don’t have to write a letter
That’s all from me
So do it for free
Poems
Reverse What I Just Said
Roses are blue
Violets are red
Please reverse
What I just said
The Arms On a Chair
The arms on a chair
As I watch them, silently stay still
One is called Bob
One is called Phil
Keeping my arms at comfort
Although I miss Filbert and Gilbert
As if I were cuddled against little cotton hairs
I love the arms of my chair.
Unseen Beauty
Perfect complexion
Ugly reflection
My tears are shed
While yours are being fed
If you see what I see
You would jump up and flee
Because you don’t know what it’s like to be me.
She is perfect but she can see the flaws
You see an open sky while I see closed doors
You see a blank page she sees a story told
I’m silver, second best – you are gold
Truly perfect, don’t second guess me
You don’t truly know me
I’ll put up a facade until you can show me.
Vision
All around me I can see birds flying over the sea
tweeting, cawing and bouncing around
I can feel the rough sand between my toes
and I can hear the sea
swishing and swishing by the shore
I see lots of people playing in the ocean
some are so far out I can hardly see them anymore
there are yachts beeping their horns
and dolphins jumping and diving through the sea
but wait – that is all a dream!
I am sitting in my kitchen looking into my garden
Dystopian Visions
Watching through the broken windows,
A frail body of bone and rubble awaits.
From innocent children, laughter flows,
They laugh and shout,
Naïve to the worst of society
Seemingly unable to live without.
Their eyes hold only joy,
Absent is the cruelty of the world
No horror has infected them just yet.
The last of the forest,
A haunted beauty;
Soon to be burnt to ashes
By concrete jungles,
And skyscrapers with cracked foundations.
The Sun can’t bear to look at us
For any more than a day.
Even the moon, always there,
Only reflects; never emitting.
But of course the man in the moon,
Can’t always put on his show.
Watching through the broken windows,
What happened?
Flourishing life, crushed.
Innocence, destroyed.
Love, removed.
Dying, fearlessly.
Real smiles are now masks,
And truths are now lies.
A whisper of a fight,
A shout of rebellion.
Watching through the broken windows,
A frail body of bone and rubble awaits.
Dying, afraid.
This world could be so beautiful,
But we prefer it so macabre.
A fire burns inside a screaming body.
This was reality, this was their world.
I turn away and close the curtains.
Hope for a better world tomorrow.
Everything Changed
The day when everything changed,
The world turned upside down,
Smiles into frowns,
Frowns into smiles,
The moon into daylight,
The sun into midnight.
Strolling through the park,
Watching cars walk,
Whilst ducks sang,
Nature stood close.
People started flying,
Gliding through the clouds,
Weather changing like a fluent piece of writing.
Babies were walking,
Yet children were crawling,
Babies were singing,
However, children were dribbling.
Mummy
Mummy was happy she smiled a lot
then one day she just stopped.
It wasn’t her fault it was all too much.
They called her paralysed
I don’t know what that means.
Mummy was sad, mummy was angry,
she cried too many days.
It’s OK mummy I love you always.
Mummy was my butterfly
but now she was broken.
You could see she was a butterfly too
and you taught her even broken was beautiful.
Piece by piece you helped
to put mummy’s broken parts back together.
She began to smile,
then I heard her laugh and I smiled too.
Mummy got stronger
and brighter and more like my mummy.
I said mummy don’t give up on me
and I won’t give up on you.
But most of all I still have a mummy
and that’s really down to you.
I love and am loved
thankfully that’s because we met you.
Thank you.

Chasing my Dreams
I’m chasing my dreams,
Like a gymnast raising the bar,
Like a child reaching for a star,
So l push myself further,
Faster and faster,
Like a rollercoaster down a slope,
Like a cheetah chasing an antellope.
And finally l achieve it!
Like a soaring bird, l forever go upward,
As if the world has no downward.
But every day, the world moves on,
And before you can stop it,
It has already gone.
