Dream and Nightmare

0
by Emma aged 11

Dream is a friend,
She’s happy and kind.
Nightmare, to be dream, pretends,
He’s horrid and lives in the subconscious mind.

One cannot exist without the other,
So must live in harmony.

Although they are visions,
They’re stronger than we can imagine.

What is Happening

by Harmony Baker aged 11

What is happening in the town,
People wearing masks
And looking all around.
We all have a task to keep everyone safe,
In this time of Coronavirus.
We all have to create,
Bubbles which will help us keep our distance
From others who are fighting as part of the resistance.

Waves

by Emilia Pitcher aged 11

I love the rough waves of the sea
The way the wash of the waves
are like horses, galloping
Racing fastest just as the waves crash down
But slowing until nothing is left
As the wave hits the shore

The way that the deep blue of the sea and sky
Contrasts with the yellow sun and sand
And the white of the fluffy clouds and wash
Like a peacock showing off
its many colours
Displayed like a perfect painting

The way that the sea holds life
Like a giant house for most of Earth
With turtles and fish within
With waves for giant bodyguards
Stopping you from swimming
too far from your boat

The sound of the sea
is like a lion, roaring
As the thundering waves
Crash down, water sprays
And keeps on going
Until the wave hits the shore.

I See

0
by Niamh Hadley aged 6

I see what’s happening
I see what’s bad
I see what’s good and the things that are sad

I see a world full of lots of different feelings
Good, bad, crazy, scared, happy, excited, confusing

I see hope when I watch plants grow
I see nature
Birds and bees, spiders and snails
I see trees, they help us breath
We must look after nature
The planet can’t survive is nature isn’t alive

I would like to see a world with peace, good health and hope
When things get hard, I look for people that can help

WINNING POEM

The Rainbow

0
by Matilda Berryman aged 6

When it is raining,
and the moon is shining just like the sun,
maybe the stars will form a rainbow
shining the colour of the night sky.
No one knows if it will.
You could see one in the sky
at night.
Tell me if it is colourful
or not.
It might be shiny
or it might be pale.
Tell me in the morning if you do,
or if you don’t.
I have seen it.
Maybe you have too?
If it doesn’t come out at first,
just wait.
If it shines like the sun or the moon
will it light up your room?
Like a flower shining in the night.

Covid-19

Roses are red
Violets are blue
Why is covid here?
Curse you!
Oh no, locked inside
Ugh, so boring

Sometimes so mad
but sometimes you’re a good lad
so wait at home my dears
and soon covid will be gone

The Boy That Knew All

0
by Oliver Winiecki aged 11

One morning I woke up feeling not right,
It wasn’t any sickness or joints that were tight,
I felt powerful,
It was wonderful,
I could see into the future.
I started to act like a creature,
Causing havoc everywhere I went,
I started to feel sorry for whoever felt discontent.
Am I a monster,
Or am I a daydreamer?

Four Seasons

by Russell aged 11

Flowers blooming, water dripping of the trees
you can hear rustling leaves, the wind is choppy
some stumps are hollowing the amazing spring.

Green grass, summer’s blooms,
growing trees and crunching leaves.
The bees are buzzing the birds are munching,
the perfect summer’s day.

Leaves turning red, scold autumn ahead,
the trees are shedding,
put on you’re wellies and don’t don’t forget a coat,
the crispy leaves gently float to the ground,
a cosy autumn awaits.

Snow falling, Santa’s calling,
a freezing winter’s near,
build a snowman make snow angels
enjoy it now winter’s here,
at night you look out of the window
and what’s that? A perfect snowflake,
it’s going to be a white Christmas.

Pack up ready, the new years here.

Animals

Amber the Anteater was getting bored,
Bean the Bear wanted to win an award.
Kelly the Kangaroo played with her niece,
Camille the Cobra loved watching geese.
Doc the Dolphin’s hobby was crochet,
Polly the Parrot’s hobby was macramé.
All of these animals play Marco Polo,
And all of them like singing a solo!
