Seasons Change

Seasons Change and the cold is her once more
A white blanket covers the once green grass
I am shivering, frozen to the core
Winter lingers but I want it to pass

Seasons change and spring is finally here
New life arrives and flowers start to bloom
Butterflies fly high in the sky so clear
The scent lingers and it smells like perfume

Seasons change and the warm air surrounds me
The sun beats down and smiles are on faces
Ice cream, sandy beaches and the blue sea
I get excited to see new places

Seasons change and autumn is her once more
The leaves turn red and I start to feel blue
The sun has gone and I miss the sea shore
I wish it was summer, what about you?

Weather

Weather is a mysterious thing isn’t it?

The weather forecast says it going to be rainy,
but what comes out of the sky is the sun.
But when it says its going to be sunny,
it is rainy, which is boring and not fun.

In the morning it can be bright and sunny
and possibly warm,
or it can be grey, cold and dull.
You just don’t know.

Hope

I’m cold, I’m cold, I’m cold,
I’m not much more than sand in a hold.
I got the sight of the frostbite.
I’m chillin to fear, I’m chillin to death.
I’m scared, I might not see you.
All the days that past.
All the nights that went.
Please somebody come for me,
Whoever does has a pure heart just like the one I saw.
I don’t like fear so that’s why I gonna stand strong.
I’m not gonna let the world go behind me.
I have to keep it in my sight,
Otherwise, I’ll have a treacherous night
I’ll surely feel the pain,
Like those days I went insane.
I wanna go to the bright side
But I got shunned to the dark side.
My only hope is to get up on my feet,
And sing to the one who came for me.
I will and I will never be more happy,
To see the greatest the only hope.
All I have to do is wait for the moment I get back to being who I am.
JUST give me a few years and I’ll be back on my feet.
JUST like the one I hoped for,
JUST like the one I begged for.
But all I know is they will never come,
Even if I plead for them.
I don’t know what to say who I am
I’m starting to lose confidence
Like somebody was taking over my heart.
Hope has come back, we re-join as we met.
And then I woke up, everything is in harmony AGAIN.

Homeless

The one who leaves me behind.
I’m left on the streets.
You just walk by.
I just can’t interpret your mind.
And all the loves lost.

The heart beats.
The sound fades.
I lose hope as it goes away.

The fate is there,
On the ground.
I just don’t have the energy to get around.

Take a step,
Fall down.
Get up again and you push me to the ground.

The heart beats.
The sound fades.
I lose hope as it goes away.

Look up, I’m stared at.
Bending down you give me a piece.
Then walk away in peace.

I Look at it as if it were a diamond.
The precious piece is stolen.
I glared at him, with all the glory taken away.

The heart beats.
The sound fades.
I lose hope as it goes away.

As a storm breaks out,
There’s nobody on the streets.
My clothes are wet, I’m in half-sleeves,
All I can do is call out for the one who is complete.

I miraculously made it through the night.
Open my eyes to see the light.
Unlike last night the streets were full of fright.

The heart beats.
The sound fades.
I lose hope as it goes away.

Everything is calm.
Just as you stroll along.
You take a step back and exclaim “You stink!

My tummy’s grumbling for I haven’t eaten.
It grumbles again and I start to feel the pain.
People peeping at me with silence that is plain.

The heart beats.
The sound fades.
I lose hope as it goes away.
And it goes away for eternity.

I’m a Tree

Hello, hello I’m a tree ,
I wish you humans never cut me down.

I feel crushed, I feel dead ,
I feel like I am going to die.

I have seen my friends broken down to dust,
I see your houses, I see your glee.

I close my eyes hoping I could fly ,
To some place that I would never die.

I wish you had time to be grateful,
I dream you were not so hateful.

WINNING POEM

The Chippy

Walking down the street
Happy in my feet

Looking forward with glee
At a fish and chip tea

Seeing Rainbows as we walk back
Chips on a plate in a great big stack

Yum!

I’m Grateful

0
by Iris Parsons aged 10

Nature, nature all around
Listen here, you should be proud
Nature, nature all around
Look at all your leaps and bounds

Think of the rain pattering, wind howling
Think of the snow falling, robins tweeting
Think of the snowdrops blooming, ice forming
I’m grateful for you all

Think of bunnies bouncing, blue gigs singing
Those lambs bleating, robins meeting
Daffodils show, you can’t feel low
I’m grateful for you all

Think of the Sun shining, people smiling
Time outside of taking a ride
Flowers blooming, the breeze calming
I’m grateful for you all

Coming Home

by William aged 11

I was on my way to a brand new home
But to get there I had to take risks
I thought about how my life was before
And knew I had to push on.

I had to walk 5 miles, maybe 10, maybe 20
But I could see a path up ahead
This would be the last challenge I faced
But maybe, maybe I could survive.

The chronicle said I would face certain death
But perhaps for once it was wrong
I summoned up all my courage and jumped
And fell.

I fell into what seemed like an abyss
But landed in the arms of a stranger
Who told me about their life and dreams
I realised I had found my place.
