WOW! Another four years!
The Olympics is here.
The jaw dropping events such as: long jump, rowing, cycling and more!
Winning and losing.
The happy 🙂 and sad 🙁
Spectators supporting their home town cheering as loud as lions.
The Olympic igniting the night sky.
The heroes: Usain Bolt, Jessica Ennis and Mo Farah.
The Olympic torch ignites peoples heart with joy!
The Olympics are here.

Joy From Within

0
by Amelie aged 11

I can’t believe I’m saying this,
I’m scared of revealing this,
I’m strong they say,
But they’re wrong.

I have grazes on my knees,
I get pushed into the tree,
My mother asked,
What is wrong,
When I came home crying.

It’s like I’m not a person,
It’s like I’m a doll,
Being controlled by someone else.

Life is hard,
But not THIS hard,
Should I be treated like this?
NO!

Give me a voice,
Give me a say,
I shouldn’t have to be treated this way,
Whatever you say.

If you are a bully,
Stop it NOW!
Try and be nice,
I bet you know how.

Now I am happy,
I have friends,
And a voice,
No grazes,
No tears,
Just joy,
From within.

My Pets

My cat, my dog, my rabbit
like to woof and meow and squeak,
so loudly you can’t hear me speak.
They eat ice cream all day long,
and then they sing the ice cream song.

“I scream you scream we all scream for ice cream!”

I know this sounds weird,
I know it sound wrong,
but believe me,
it happened,
in my home.
Now we’ve got new pets,
called Bubble,
Squeak and Pong.

The Dog

by Isabelle aged 9

Once upon a time there lived a dog,
Who loved to play in the bog,
Her name was fluffy,
But she looked very scruffy,
One day she went to the bog and looked up to the sky,
Thinking about being able to fly.

Mystery

2
by Adedayo Erivic

See the works of God so great,
greater than what man’s lip can state,
during creation with no man did He debate,
nor to any man His plans did He relate.

See how mysteriously He arranged the rocks,
huge over small He piled them up in bulk,
mystically He made the tree leaves interlock,
all this mystery are His handiwork.

He raised the sky without a pillar,
neither did He grade the earth surface with a bulldozer,
He comprehends all language without an interpreter,
in battles He is always a winner.

God’s work is an ocean that man’s thought cannot sail,
men tried getting His secret but continued to fail,
He contacts men from above without a mail,
His power and potentials are never frail.

He created the sun to shine so bright,
the moon also gives its nocturnal light,
for several years the sun and moon never fight,
or engage in a duel to show their might.

I cannot but give God my humble praise,
the one who created me in replica of His own face,
In His divine heart He created for me a huge space,
His love for me is just divine grace.

I’m sorry if this poem sounds stupid
Actually I think this poem is pointless
But I hope that you like it
I really enjoyed writing it
Thank you reading my silly poem

They

1
by Pasha Sahba aged 9

His heart ached
His hands shook
His breath hitched
His eyes watered

Her lips throbbed
Her voice cracked
She couldn’t move
She couldn’t speak.

Their hearts pounded against their chests
The palms of their hands began to sweat
The water in their eyes started to fall
Then they downed the burning alcohol.

Afterwards, they whispered, “Finally, I am free…”

The House

The house was very dark
The house was very scary
If the house moves
I’m getting out of here!

if you see a mouse
in the house
go fetch a cheese on the stick

Summer 2016

1
by Adam Rafael Holmes aged 6

School has finished and I am free
I am going to Spain, on a plane.
Not wet and cold in the rain,
Nice and hot in the sun.

School has finished and I am free
No more learning and maths for me.
I get to sleep in my nice warm bed,
Without my teachers saying
“Sit still, be quiet, not a word to be said.”

School has finished and I am free
The goldfish will have a pyramid block
To eat and eat and eat
Until the clock says, “Stop!”
(I’m home, did you like it?).

I have been on 20 flights
Around Europe and
Then on a boat to the Isle of Wight
Because on my last flight
My ears were alight
And I was screaming, like this…
OWEEEEEEEEEE!!!

Now they are better so here I go.
9 days’ left, then it’s tomorrow!
School has finished and I am free!

Nature’s Day

by Daisy aged 11

The sun in the sky
The nice blue
The white clouds
Such a wonderful view

The grass like limes
The flowers blooming
The bugs, the insects
Without them what would we do?

There’s nature all around us
We have friends who care
People don’t know this but
Life is everywhere.
