Orphans

by Ruheen Lamba aged 11

The smile on their faces
when someone comes to meet them
I am not telling you, telling you to adopt
But you sure can spend some time with them
From Christmas presents to joy
You can at least give them that

A new pair of clothes can truly brighten up the day
But for them it can brighten their whole week
A new Barbie doll or a football
A toy for them is like a gift from God

Even if you don’t give them a gift
I am sure you would at last go and spend some time with them
Playing hide and seek or reading them a book

They might not be your kids
But they are kids
So treat them like that
