Orangutan In the Jungle

by Dorothy Shaw aged 11

I’m an orangutan in the jungle,
Leaping from tree to tree,
Dancing around as happy as could be,

Light shining through the leaves,
Views that people can never believe,

I carry food for miles and miles,
Bringing it back to cheerful smiles,

Humans, hunters, move and they’ll shoot,
Hide away, quick, from the men in a suit,

I’m an Orangutan in the jungle,
Staying up in my tree,
I hope the stalkers will never find me
