RUNNER UP
How beautiful is the moon,
Illuminating the skies,
Hiding herself during noon,
So you will never see her cry.
Alone she sits peacefully,
Guiding those in the shadowed, autumn nights,
Warming the hearts of those who cry
Never to give up her own fight.
Surrounded by many stars,
In loneliness she lies and rather be,
Her consequence produced by scars,
Just one last turn for her silent plea.
Away from people, away from pain,
She manages to hide away in plain sight.
I’ve told you once, allow me to tell you again.
The story of a moon,
Who illuminates the sky.

I really like your poem! It deserve to be a winner, but runner up is just as good, well done! 💜 Hopefully you win the next one!
