My Life

by Annelies aged 13

My life is fantastic,
My life is great
My life is better than a lot grapes
My life feels incomplete though
It’s an empty hole
A nurse or a detective
Is the decision I face
The life I choose,
Determines my future
Determines where I live,
What country do I choose next?
I won’t stay in this corrupt country any longer,
I must break free!
Albania or Lithuania
Nigeria or Siberia
Or maybe even recreate Syria
The questions I face determines my life,
but before I choose I’ll have some booze
a word my friends joke to me about,
with no real meaning,
You may ask my old life,
but in truth it’s gone now,
I’m a new person in a new country,
a new person in a life.
This is long but it is my expression.
It may not rhyme but it is my confession.
I think of life, almost like a knife,
Something that cuts through you like in a trice,
But I am done for today,
Tomorrow I shall sleep, then get up and eat
And hopefully it will be Easter break,
where I can escape this meester of a place.
