My Mum’s Soup

by Frasie Richards aged 10

My Mum made some soup the other day,
If you saw it, you would run away!
And if you tasted it, you would have a fit,
When I tried some, it was so hot that my tongue nearly split!
My poor little cat licked it up off the floor,
And when she dropped some on her leg, it nearly burnt it all!
Now she walks around with a limpy leg, no prizes for guessing why,
The heat that soup produces, could fire a rocket into the sky!
If I’ve learnt any lessons at all, it would be to stay away from that soup,
And the chilly flakes that were in the bowl, are now in my mouth, doing a loop the loop!
