Missing You

by Ruby Grace aged 11

Ok, I’ll admit it, I miss you
Really, really bad
I’m fed up of having a sit down in your garden
I’m kinda a bit mad
I know everyone is going through the same
But I feel so isolated and alone
Without you there to cheer me up
I’m a miserable girl at home

It’s my Birthday today
But can’t have the annual pizza night
I have to sit with my annoying sister
Underneath a bright light
Grandma, I miss your biscuits
Uncle, your sweets aren’t the same
As the one we get from Co-op
I know, they’re kinda lame

Never thought I’d say this
But I miss dividing and maths
Instead the highlight of my week
Is having a cold bath
My friends are going to a different secondary
Some are staying with me
But this ‘virus’ thing has torn us apart
And I don’t wanna leave

Family has always been important
And friends even so
But now I’m praying really hard
That we can meet when the germs go
I appreciate the NHS
Even though the clap has stopped
I hope you all stay safe and sound
Ok guys, I miss you all a lot
