This poem was a Runner Up. No prize… but well done!
When I’m feeling sad or down, my lovely mum
asks me why, and I tell her. She then cheers me up.
When someone is rude to me, my lovely mum
tells me to ignore them, but if it keeps happening,
my lovely mum gives me lovely advice.
When I get home from school, my lovely mum
says, “How was your day?” If I say “Bad!” she listens
and cheers me up completely.
When I’m worried that I’ve failed at something
(but I never actually fail), my lovely mum tells me
it’s alright and it’s fine to make mistakes.
I love my lovely mum!
