Love

by Annaliese aged 11

Tender petals drop silently
as my breath rattles noisily,
The chilly breeze caressed my skin,
I spot in the distance.. a fin,
Waving at me and cutting through the water.

I gaze lovingly at the ocean,
It’s like a immersive potion
churning and mixing all night,
Patiently waiting on the morning light.

Finally, light battles away at the dark
and finally flying out of their nests
are the larks.
The Pantone suits robing them are the best.

At last I tear my eyes from what I love
and slowly trudge home,
but again I spot a pearly dove
and dawdle a little longer.

When I reach home
there is a magnet pulling me back,
right to that little track,
and when I went back,
I saw the things I love.
