Lost for Words

by Mary Eve Alane aged 9

I glimpse out of the safari truck, wondering what I may see,
Two majestic and beautiful lion cubs playing together happily,
Near them is a herd of little zebras grazing,
From a distance and close up, they look soft and amazing,
You can’t miss the giraffes eating leaves from the tallest trees,
Oh, how juicy and delicious are these leaves that they seize,
Down below them, are the ginormous hippos swimming in the lake,
Sometimes, they feel so relaxed, they can’t stay awake!
You can’t forget the fierce and strong crocodiles,
They love meat, and to find it they will swim miles,
Back on land are the sneaky hyenas that travel in packs,
Because they are lazy, to catch their prey they use group hacks,
Oh, how well this extraordinary safari went,
I was lost for words, I really enjoyed this event!
