London

by Genevieve Hewitt aged 9

There are buses everywhere
And cars driving without a care
In the houses people wondering what to wear
London is a nightmare
People walking around
Dogs thinking about what they have found
The slash of the Thames way down
London and all of its sounds
Boom said the firework
That dude is acting like a jerk
People going to work
London is full of dirt
St Paul’s Cathedral is very tall
London Eye turning making sure you won’t fall
Big Ben most well-known of them all
London is so cool
Pubs with loads of guys
And pigeons soaring in the sky
Parents wondering what to buy
London is not very shy
The basketballs jumping
Kids pretending they’re hunting
People helping with the bunting
London is not all about angry people grunting
That shop is unpopular
Grownups reading Dracula
Chefs dreaming about a spatula
London is spectacular
