Lockdown Life

by Stanley Basey aged 8

Living the lockdown life is boring. I am not exaggerating, not even a single letter.
One walk of the day, never a football match,
Covid-19, spreading like mad, we don’t want to catch.
Keepy uppies all the time,
Does this poem have to rhyme?
Oh I really am feeling blue,
Whatsapp call or Skype again with Grandma, Grampy and Lulu,
No aeroplanes in the sky, on the road little traffic,

Living like this, the lockdown life, I didn’t even get to pick.
I feel I have been washing my hands forever,
Family at home, always together,
Even though it is boring, it is saving lives. Will it ever end?
