The Little Monster Florist

by Ishika Toor aged 17

Once there was a monster in a deep dark forest,
Who wanted to be a pretty florist!
Arranging roses, lilies and many a carnation,
It was his decoration station

He went to this mom and little brother Dan,
And told them all about his plan,
His mother was confused and Dan laughed,
Dan said, “You will never master the craft!”

Head held high, and skin gleaming blue,
“I’ll do it! I’ll show you!”
And worked and arranged,
For days, he was engaged

Went to his mom and Dan again,
Took a pretty bouquet, used his brain,
Mom was happy and Dan’s jaw dropped,
The monster was so happy, he hopped!

Opened a tiny shop soon the street,
Neither snow nor total heat,
Could stop the little monster, who
Had a dream, just like you!
