Life has gotten more perplexing,
Since the last time I bothered to think about it
Its twists and turns are wild and vexing
All basic foundations toppling bit by bit

Perhaps it has always been this baffling
And I, as a child, had been simple in mind
But the brain’s biochemical processes, rumbling and rattling
Can they ever be truly be described as “simple”?

I think it is just words which I did not have
To describe my emotions and my thinking
A person’s thought is as complex
As the extent of language which they comprehend
