In These Meadows and Forests

by Maggie aged 11

In these wonderful meadows and forests where birds sing a chorus
And deer walk side by side while the sun beams with pride.
Where bunnies come out of their burrows
To come and play with the squirrels
And bees feed on wild flowers growing against the weeds.
Then you hear the wild cry of a wolf at night
But no need to be in fright
For only those pure at heart
Can love these wild places from the start.
