In Their Shoes

by Talia Ziv aged 10

In the night the sirens sound
I’m anxious that I won’t be found

My sorry heart waiting in the dark of night
Will I be there when there is finally light?

I’m a living dead
And there’s nothing to be fed

Hidden hearts and suffering souls
There’s no more in my mind than holes

Bombs whistling and sirens wailing
The Jewish people are nothing but failing

The Star of David sewn on my heart
As all families are torn apart

I wish the world was just in peace
I wish this fighting would just cease

I think that it was good but I think there could be a bit of rhyming.
