If I Were Winter

by Annabelle aged 9

If I were winter, I would cover the trees
And I would blow a freezing breeze

Across the sky my snow clouds would  lie
Across the sky robins fly

Warm fires slowly light
And make the numb people bright,

Animals hibernate under the trees
Near the ponds are frozen reeds,

Ice cold snow would fall from the sky
Beneath the trees hibernating animals lie

Icicles point down to the floor
And the land would be frozen to the core

Lovely poem, Annabelle. I’ve tidied it up a little so that all the lines say what it would be like.
